Friday Photos

It's Friday and that means we are sharing great Royal Caribbean photos our readers have sent in and once again, we have a fantastic batch to share with everyone.  We want your photos too, so send us your best Royal Caribbean photos so we can share it with the world.

The first photo this week is from Angela Lee, who has a story to share with this photo.

My friend and I are not new to cruising. If anything we been on a handful of cruises and as much as we like having fun on the islands we visit we have even more fun on the ship as well. We make it a point to attend all the trivia games the ship offers as well as others they have. Time after time, we feel like such losers when we attend these games.

However, this year on the Jewel of the Seas, we are finally winners. This picture is us placing 3rd place when we played in The Quest. It was our proud moment. Also, we did randomly win other prizes when we played all the trivia games offered on Jewel of the Seas. All in all, we are dorks and love the trivia and live to play all these games on any Royal Caribbean ship. As much as it is fun to win, just the journey to get there is even more fun.

Next we have a photo from Giulio Saggin of Radiance of the Seas that was taken from a helicopter ride!  Here's Giulio's description:

Rather than embark on a short cruise to see if we liked cruising, we jumped into the deep end and spent 17 nights cruising from Honolulu to Sydney in Sept/Oct 2011. On the way we stopped off at, among
other places, Bora Bora. We decided to go on a helicopter ride and this photo of Radiance of the Seas at Bora Bora was taken on that helicopter ride.

Gene M. Hagen sent us this photo of Oasis of the Seas in St. Maarten. Gene just couldn't help comparing Royal Caribbean's largest cruise ship to Carnival Cruise Line's largest ship (at the time), the Carnival Dream. Nothing wrong with a little gloating!

Next is a photo from Maureen of Rhapsody of the Seas parked behind the Sea Shepherd 'Steve Irwin' in Hobart Tasmania.  She said she got to go onboard the Shepherd and the accommodation was basic to say the least, compared to Rhapsody!

Veteran Friday Photos reader Harry Yerikyan sent this photo from his cruise on Allure of the Seas last month.  I'm sure he misses being onboard and seeing this photo makes me yearn to be back and I wasn't even on his cruise!

Last is a photo from Kris of an absolutely beautiful sunset as seen on Freedom of the Seas this past February.  Lovely!

Thank you to everyone who sent in their photos this week. Have a great weekend and be sure to send us your photos so we can post them next week by using this form.

The best part about Friday (aside from the impending weekend) is sharing great Royal Caribbean photos that our readers have sent in with all of you. Each week we ask everyone reading this to send us your best, favorite and fun Royal Caribbean photos to share with the world.

Once again our readers have responded with some great choices to share so let's jump right in.

Our first photo comes from Bryce J. Griffler and it's a photo from his Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska earlier this year.  I love taking photos with the camera on the ground and looking out, so this photo certainly fits the bill.

Our second photo is from Chris Davis and it's a photo of him trying out the FlowRider on his Independence of the Seas cruise to Norway's Fjords in May 2013.  Chris is far braver than I am to give this a go, as I imagine the next shot was a face plant into the FlowRider.  Good form Chris!

More FlowRider photos?  Sure thing, here's one is from Harry A. Yerikyan on his Oasis of the Seas cruise. Not sure if this is Harry in the photo or not, but this is more my style because it has less of a chance of ending up eating FlowRider foam.

John Paul sent us this photo with the wait staff in the main dining room and was sure to mention the staff is what makes for a great cruise.  Couldn't agree more!

Kris sent in this photo of Freedom of the Seas' wake from his February 2013 cruise. I love looking out at the wake on my Royal Caribbean cruises because it's so calming.  And if I can't be on a Royal Caribbean cruise right now, then this is the next best thing.

Next is a selfie of Tom and Diane Trudnowski, and if I can read t-shirts, it's from their first back-to-bacl Freedom of the Seas cruise.  Plus it looks like they've got a few boat drinks to make for the perfect start to their cruise.  You have my seal of approval!

Lastly we have a photo from Victor Sacal of the Rising Tide bar on Oasis of the Seas.  It looks like the bar is at Central Park for this photo and it's well established I'm a sucker for the Rising Tide bar (and other cheap moving venues) so consider me officially wishing I was there right now.

If we didn't include your photo this week, then that means you need to send it in to us for use on a future Friday Photos post.  We want to see your favorite Royal Caribbean cruise photos and you can use this form to send them to us.

We love to share the amazing Royal Caribbean photos our readers have sent us each and every week for Friday Photos.  Basically, it's a showcase of the best Royal Caribbean photos from our readers and this week's batch looks to be the best yet.

If you have photos that you would like included in an upcoming Friday Photos blog post, then please send us your best Royal Caribbean photos!

First up is a photo from Shawn Holmes and it was taken on the Explorer of the Seas while he was watching the bellyflop contest.  Watch out below!

Harry Yerikyan sent us this photo of the Oasis of the Seas' name and I suddenly wish I was onboard Oasis to see this for myself.  That and the seven night cruise that comes with it!

Speaking of Oasis of the Seas, this photo from Travis Rogers says "WOW" because it's from above the Aqua Theater.  Why can't my photos come out this cool?  Travis did say he managed to get this shot from the back of Deck 15 (sports deck) looking down on the Aqua Theater on Deck 6.

Jill Snyder sent us this photo from Allure of the Seas of the Royal Caribbean sign on the back of the ship.  Love this view!

Next up is a photo from Mark DePrimo and he sent in this photo from Explorer of the Seas docked in Bermuda on ‎Tuesday, ‎October ‎27, ‎2009, ‏‎5:27:00 AM. He says he likes to get up early and walk around the ship taking pictures. It's the only time you can get shots without a lot of passengers around.

Bryce J. Griffler sent us this gorgeous photo of Alaska from his cruise there in 2013.  Really cool shot!

Last up is a photo from Matt who said he surprised his wife with an upgrade to a Crown Loft Suite on Allure for their 5 year anniversary on 8/18/13.  Husband of the year material right here!

Thank you to everyone who sent in their photos this week. Have a great weekend and be sure to send us your photos so we can post them next week by using this form.

Welcome back to this week's edition of Friday Photos, our weekly showcase of beautiful Royal Caribbean photos our readers have sent to us to be featured.  If you have photos that you would like included in an upcoming Friday Photos blog post, then please send us your best Royal Caribbean photos!

Let's check out this week's batch of photos!

Christopher Pescatore sent us this photo from Oasis of the Seas on the May 18th sailing in 2013.  The Boardwalk neighborhood is so beautiful, it's hard to ever find a bad photo here.

Speaking of the Boardwalk on Oasis of the Seas, Judy sent us this photo of her and some of her "friends".  If my daughter were writing this blog post, she would spend the rest of the post gushing over Alex the lion and King Julien.  Love those Dreamworks characters!

In the "serenity" category of photos this week, how about this photo from Maureen of Milford Sound in New Zealand, as seen from her aft balcony on Voyager of the Seas.  If you're looking for a quick mental escape, this is the photo to zone out to!

Tom & Diane Trudnowski sent in this photo from Freedom of the Seas in August.  It looks like the most epic belly flop competition jump ever.  If this guy didn't win, then there is no justice in the world.

Next we have Matt, who sent us this photo of Allure of the Seas docked in Nassau, Bahamas.  I never cease to be amazed by the Oasis-class of ships and their immense scale.

Want more Oasis-class photos?  Here's one from Gabriella, who sent in this photo of Oasis of the Seas docked in St. Thomas.  Perfect!

Victor Sacal continues the Oasis-class love fest this week with another Oasis of the Seas photo.  This is inside the ship in the theater.  I love the neon lights.

Lastly, we have this photo from John Paul of Rhapsody of the Seas.  The photo was taken in Broome, Western Australia on a 36 days circumnavigation of Australia and New Zealand. WOW! Just found something new to add to my "Things to do when I win the lottery" list.

Thank you to everyone who sent in their photos this week. Have a great weekend and be sure to send us your photos so we can post them next week by using this form.

If it's Friday, that means it is time to share some more awesome photos our readers have sent in of their Royal Caribbean cruise vacations!  As always, we want your photos too, so send us your best Royal Caribbean photos so we can share it with the world.

Let's get right into this week's batch of photos!

First up is a photo of muster drill from Don Donahue.  Muster drill is something we all have to do, but once it's over, your cruise vacation really begins!

Next is a night shot of Explorer of the Seas while docked in Kings Wharf Bermuda, June 2010 from Shawn Holmes.  Bermuda is one of those ports where Royal Caribbean stays overnight and it's a great sight to see Explorer of the Seas all lit up.

Christopher Pescatore sent us this photo of Adventure of the Seas on the December 2nd sailing in 2012 in St. Croix.  The cloud above the ship is a little odd but otherwise, looks like paradise!

Kris sent in this photo of Freedom of the Seas from February 2013 and I have to admit I'm a little bias towards this photo since Kris and I were on the same cruise.  Ah, memories!

Next is a great view of Alesund, Norway and Independence of Seas in May 2013 by Chris Davis.  I love photos like this that show off the port along with the Royal Caribbean ship!

Judy sent in this photo and described it as, "My favorite way to pass time on board!!".  Can't say I can fault her!  It's hard beating a frozen concoction on the pool deck.

David Domanski sent us this photo of Explorer of the Seas in the western Caribbean, which was also his first cruise on Royal Caribbean.  When you go on an amazing ship like Explorer of the Seas and go to places with water color like that, it's easy to become Loyal to Royal!

Thank you to everyone who sent in their photos this week. Have a great weekend and be sure to send us your photos so we can post them next week by using this form.

We love sharing Royal Caribbean photos that our readers took on their cruise vacations, so each week we ask everyone reading this to send us your best, favorite and fun Royal Caribbean photos to share with the world.

This is our weekly fun opporunity to show off these really well taken shots and give everyone else a "quick fix" of a Royal Caribbean vacation.

Let's take a look at this week's batch of photos!

First up this week is a photo from April Brown who took this photo from Jewel of the Seas as it was pulling into St. Lucia.  There's something really fun about watching your cruise ship dock in a beautiful port and definitely one of those perfect moments onboard any Royal Caribbean cruise.

Speaking of ports, here's one of Independence of the Seas in Flam, Norway that was sent to us by Chris Davis.  Who says your port has to be in the Caribbean for it to be beautiful?  The mountains, water and sky all look perfect.

Christopher Pescatore sent in this great photo of Adventure of the Seas when she was docked in St. Croix.  I'm a sucker for clear blue Caribbean water so consider this photo approved by yours truly.

Having been on Freedom of the Seas a few times, I feel like I could spot their Royal Promenade anywhere, including this photo by Don Donahue.  I love that light up bridge!

Harry Yerikyan sent in this photo of Oasis of the Seas.  So let's see, beautiful ship, tropical paradise, clear blue water.  Yes, I do love this photo too.

Woa, this photo by Jörgen Anderson is up close and personal with the bow of this Royal Caribbean ship!

Speaking of beautiful islands, Shawn Holmes sent in this photo of Explorer of the Seas at Kings Wharf in Bermuda.  This is a fun cruise because the ship is docked in Bermuda overnight, which isn't something you always get to do.

Thanks to everyone who sent in their photos this week. Have a great weekend and be sure to send us your photos so we can post them next week by using this form.

Each week we invite our readers to send us their favorite Royal Caribbean cruise vacation photos so we can share it with everyone.  It's a showcase of the fun that can be had cruising with Royal Caribbean and an opportunity for a quick "fix" in our never-ending yearning for more cruises.

Let's look at this week's photos and get things started.

Our first photo is from Don Harlan, which was taken in Hilo back in June 2013.  Palm trees, beautiful ocean and a Royal Caribbean ship? I say perfect picture!

Next is a photo from John McCormack of Rhapsody of the Seas docked in Sydney harbor next to the Sydney Opera House. He says, "you couldn't ask for a prettier port."  Can't say I disagree.

In the "wish I was there for this photo" category, Shawn Holmes sent in this photo looking out over the pool deck on the Explorer of the Seas.

This photo by Harry A. Yerikyan from Oasis of the Seas that is looking down on the Boardwalk Carousel isn't bad either.

Next is Patricia Hall taken while cruising on the Brilliance of the Seas with a stop at Naples, Italy. She took the Amalfi Coast tour which included lunch and and of course glasses of wine.

Last, but not least, Don Donahue sent in this photo returning from the scenic CocoCay, heading towards Freedom of the Seas.

Thanks to everyone who sent in their photos this week.  Be sure to send your photos in as well by using this form.

Welcome back to Friday Photos, our weekly showcase of Royal Caribbean photos that were taken by readers of this blog.

Every week, we ask our readers to send us their best Royal Caribbean vacation photos to be considered for this post and you're welcome to send yours in as well. We'd love to feature photos of the ships, excursions, activities onboard and anything else that reminds you of a great time while sailing with Royal Caribbean.

So without further adieu, here is this week's batch of photos.

The award for "photo from the furthest place" goes to John Paul, who sent this photo in from his Legend of the Sea's Borneo Explorer cruise.  It's taken on Palawan Island in the Philippines and proves simple camera tricks are always amusing.

Adam Gilmor took this photo while on Allure of the Seas in St. Thomas. I don't think I'll ever get sick of scenic vista photos from the Caribbean.

I really love this photo that John McCormack sent in of Brilliance of the Seas docked in Valetta, Malta in December, 2010 for repairs after extensive damage suffered by hurricane force winds outside Alexandria, Egypt.  Great colors!

This photo is from Patricia Hall, who took this photo from Italy.  She was sailing on Brilliance of the Seas and while at a port stop in Naples, took the Amalfi Coast tour.  As the Italians say, bella!

Next is a photo from Dawn Lytten, who took this photo on a recent Cruise on Freedom of the Seas back in June.  The car on the Promenade is always a great photo spot.

Daniel Stober sent in this photo looking at the ship's wake.  I know I've definitely caught myself staring at the wake.  There's something mesmerizing about it.

This photo of the Wayfinder interactive LCD screens from Oasis of the Seas are always fun...and make me wish I was onboard right now to see what's going on.

Thanks to everyone who sent in their photos this week.  Be sure to send your photos in as well by using this form.

We're starting a new weekly feature on Royal Caribbean Blog called "Friday Photos", where each Friday we will feature photos from the Royal Caribbean vacations of our readers.

We asked for submissions earlier this week and you can always send us your photos for future blog posts.  We'd love to feature photos of the ships, excursions, activities onboard and anything else that reminds you of a great time while sailing with Royal Caribbean.

Let's go to this week's photos and we've got some great ones to kickstart this feature.

Our first photo is from Jeff Robertson and he describes it as, "This is my girlfriend Sarah drinking a labadoozie and floating in front of The Freedom of the Seas".  Looks perfect!

Next up is Susan Cavalieri, who sent in this picture from the Concierge beach on CocoCay.  According to her, it's "possibly the most beautiful beach I've ever spent time on".

This photo is from Dawn Lytten, who is taking a page from Royal Caribbean's last marketing campaign by saying, "I'm the one who answered to the sea calling."

Next up is from KateSMUA (a name only a mother could love) and says, "check out this pic of me & my friend on the amazing horse riding trip in Falmouth!".  I really don't think riding a horse on the beach ever gets old.

This photo is from Harry Yerikyan and I love seeing the scale of these massive cruise ships.  In this case, it's Oasis of the Seas on the left and a Celebrity Cruise ship next door.

Patricia Hall sent us this photo of Freedom of the Seas in the Caribbean.  Hard to tell which is more beautiful: the ship or the water color!

Last but not least, Daniel Stober sent in this photo taken from an aft balcony looking out.  Sometimes there's no beating enjoying the view from your balcony and taking it all in.

Thanks to everyone who sent in their photos this week.  Be sure to send your photos in as well by using this form.
