Royal Caribbean has released its Short Caribbean sailings for Summer 2022 - Winter 2023, which are now available for booking.

Royal Caribbean's website has been updated with the new itineraries, which are available to book immediately.

The most noticeable change for these short sailings is all three Freedom Class cruise ships will sail from Florida.

Freedom of the Seas will sail 3- and 4-night cruises from Miami to Nassau and top-rated Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.

Independence of the Seas will sail 3- and 4-night cruises from Port Canaveral to The Bahamas, with full-day visits in Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay. 

Liberty of the Seas will move to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to sail alternating 3- and 4-night cruises to The Bahamas, including Perfect Day at CocoCay and Grand Bahama Island – a new destination for the ship.

Mariner of the Seas will remain in Port Canaveral as well, now with southbound 4- and 5-night cruises to the western Caribbean and Perfect Day at CocoCay.offering short sailings.

In addition, Adventure of the Seas and Grandeur of the Seas will offer short cruises from Galveston. 

Over in Tampa, Brilliance of the Seas and Rhapsody of the Seas will offer 4- and 5- night Western Caribbean cruises.

Something else new for these itineraries are stops at Grand Bahama Island, which points to Royal Caribbean's port project in Freeport, Bahamas.

Royal Caribbean is in talks to purchase the Grand Lucayan resort, although those plans are currently stalled as the terms of the agreement have changed due to the global health crisis.

Assuming it does go through, Freeport could be transformed to offer guests a variety of experiences.

The original plans called for a first phase to be a world-class beachfront destination with a 526-room hotel, shopping village, spa and wellness center, water-based family entertainment including a massive water and adventure theme park, a 40,000-square-foot convention center, adventure activities such as zip lines and off-roading, restaurants and bars, entertainment and lively nightlife.

Royal Caribbean and the ITM Group have proposed a revised deal/plan to purchase the Grand Lucayan Resort and redevelopment of Freeport Harbour. 

The release of the Summer 2022 - Winter 2023 Short Caribbean cruises is the third deployment to be released this winter, following Northeast and China & Hawaii sailings a few weeks ago.

Over the next few weeks, more sailings will be released for the 2022-2023 season, although changes to the deployment schedule are possible.

New cruises were just announced for sailings out of the northeast United States.

Royal Caribbean pushed up its Northeast 2022-2023 deployments and released the new sailings for guests to book today.

Three ships - Adventure, Anthem and Voyager of the Seas - will sail from Cape Liberty and Boston.

Today's release is phase one of the northeast sailings, and a phase two is still to be announced later.

The array of new sailings include 4 to 11 night cruises to destinations in Bermuda, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and New England.

The new sailings from the Northeast departing from May 2022 to April 2023 are now open for sale.

Adventure of the Seas will transition from Galveston to Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey and sail a combination of itineraries to Bermuda, the Caribbean and Canada. Cruises to Bermuda will include overnight stays in Bermuda.  New for summer 2022 are Adventure’s 9-night Eastern Caribbean sailings that will visit St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Bermuda and Royal Caribbean’s private destination, Labadee, in Haiti. The ship will also offer 4- and 9-night cruises heading up the east coast to visit Halifax, Nova Scotia; Saint John, New Brunswick; Boston; Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine.

Anthem of the Seas will resume sailings from Cape Liberty when she returns from Southampton, England in October 2022. Anthem will also sail 11-night southern Caribbean sailings to destinations such as SanJuan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; St. John’s, Antigua; Castries, St. Lucia; and Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis.

Voyager of the Seas will cruise for the first time from Boston, where she will offer 7-night cruises to Canada that will visit Saint John, Halifax, as well as Bar Harbor and Portland. Voyager will also sail to San Juan on a 7-night cruise with stops in the Dominican
Republic and St. Thomas and Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Voyager will arrive to the U.S. to start her season in Boston following a 14-night Arctic Crossing from Copenhagen, Denmark, which will bring guests to the wild landscapes of Iceland and Greenland along the way.

Royal Caribbean has released its first batch of summer 2022 cruises, and I hand picked five itineraries that stood out as something different or intriguing.

Every year Royal Caribbean will offer a full compliment of cruises, and many of these sailings are tried-and-true itineraries that guests love.  In addition, a few new or somewhat different sailings get added in and many cruise fans love to look for something distinctive.

I went through each of the releases for summer 2022 in Caribbean, Alaska and Europe to find the top 5 Royal Caribbean cruises worth taking a look at if you want something special from the rest of the cruises.

Bermuda cruises from Florida

Traditionally, if you wanted to go on a cruise to Bermuda, you had to sail from the Northeast United States.  In summer 2022, Royal Caribbean will offer cruises to Bermuda from Florida.

Select sailings of Mariner of the Seas from Port Canaveral will offer 8-night sailings to Bermuda, which include two days in Kings Wharf, before heading to Nassau for a late night stay and then a full day at Perfect Day at CocoCay.

There are six of these Bermuda cruises available to book between May and October 2022.

Double glacier sailings

Serenade of the Seas is no stranger to offering cruises to Alaska, but in 2022 she will offer a 7-night Multi Glacier Experience cruise.

Basically, Royal Caribbean is introducing new itineraries that showcase twice the glaciers for one sailing.

Serenade of the Seas will sail roundtrip cruises from Vancouver with an itinerary that features both the Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier, and the Hubbard Glacier, the largest tidewater glacier in North America.

If that is not enough Alaska for you, you can always extend your stay with Royal Caribbean’s signature CruiseTours, a series of 2- to 6-night pre- or post-cruise land tours led by local experts.

12-night Arctic Circle sailing

If you are looking for the combination of different sort of cruise and a European getaway, then check out the Arctic Circle cruises on Jewel of the Seas.

In June 2022, Jewel of the Seas will offer a pair of 12-night cruises to as far north as Royal Caribbean typically goes.  These sailings sail up the coast of Norway and proceed briefly into the Arctic Circle.

Holy land cruises

Cruises to Israel are a rarity for Royal Caribbean, and in 2022 you can visit holy sites and experience Israeli culture with new Odyssey of the Seas cruises to the middle east.

Odyssey of the Seas will return to Rome in summer 2022 to offer 12-night Holy Land sailings.

These cruises will visit Haifa and Jerusalem, Israel. New in 2022, Holy Land itineraries will call on Limassol, Crete, a bustling city designated in its entirety as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Oasis of the Seas sailing from the northeast

While Oasis of the Seas highly anticipated arrival for summer cruises never materialized in 2020, she will give it another try in 2022.

During summer 2022, Oasis of the Seas will offer 7-night cruise vacations to Florida and The Bahamas from Cape Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey.

Nearly every sailing on Oasis from the Big Apple will include a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay.

For residents of the Northeast, having an Oasis Class ship sail from New Jersey makes for a very convenient option in their backyard.

Royal Caribbean has released its Europe 2022 cruises, which are available to book now.

According to Royal Caribbean these new sailings are available for Crown & Anchor members on December 3, 2020, and the general public on December 4, 2020.

Guests can experience culture-rich adventures on board ships new to the Mediterranean and Northern Europe with Brilliance of the Seas sailing roundtrip from Venice, Italy and Voyager of the Seas launching her first season in the Baltic Sea – the first in the Voyager Class to do so. A game-changing lineup of guest favorites, Anthem, Allure and Odyssey of the Seas – Royal Caribbean’s second Quantum Ultra Class ship debuting in 2021 – will return to their respective homeports in Southampton, England; Barcelona and Rome to create a summer of memory-making in Europe’s most sought-after destinations.     

New Europe 2022 cruises are available to book between April and October 2022, and so far we have spotted cruises on seven different Royal Caribbean ships to book.

Here is a breakdown of where the ships will be sailing from:

Anthem of the Seas will sail from Southampton, UK and offer cruises of various lengths to destinations in Western Europe.

Allure of the Seas will sail from Rome to offer Mediterranean cruises.

Odyssey of the Seas will return to Europe to offer cruises from Rome.

Brilliance of the Seas will also sail from Rome to offer Italy and Adriatic cruises, as well as Greece and Croatia sailings.

Vision of the Seas will sail from Barcelona and offer cruises to France and Italy, as well as Western Mediterranean cruises.

Jewel of the Seas will offer open-jaw sailings between Athens, Greece and Tarragona, Spain and sail longer cruises to Italy, Turkey and Greece. She will also offer British Isle cruises from Amsterdam.  Another unique sailing will be 12-night Arctic Circle cruises from Amsterdam that sail up the coast of Norway.

Voyager of the Seas will sail from Copenhagen, Demark and offer Scandinavia & Russia cruises.

Royal Caribbean announced its 2022 7+ night Caribbean itineraries, which offers cruises on 6 different ships departing from ports all over the United States between May - October 2022.

These new sailings are beginning to appear on Royal Caribbean's website, although not all sailings are showing quite yet. 

According to Royal Caribbean these new sailings are available for Crown & Anchor members on November 17, 2020, and the general public on November 18, 2020.

The round-up so far looks like:

Explorer of the Seas sailing from Miami and offering 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean cruises.

Mariner of the Seas sailing from Port Canaveral and will offer 4- and 5- night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises, along with 8-night Southern and Eastern Caribbean itineraries.

Liberty of the Seas sailing from Galveston will offer Western Caribbean cruises.

Oasis of the Seas will sail from Cape Liberty, New Jersey and offer 7-night Cruises to Perfect Day at CocoCay and the Bahamas.

Symphony of the Seas sailing from Miami and offering 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, with stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Harmony of the Seas sailing from Port Canaveral and offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, with stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay.

The cruise line will announce its remaining Caribbean summer 2022 deployment early next year.

Should you book a 2022 cruise now?

While 2022 may seem like a long time from now, and with all the disruptions in our lives currently, booking a cruise for summer 2022 is not a bad idea.

One good reason to book a sailing now is to lock in the price when it is among the lowest you will find. Cruise prices fluctuate a lot, and over time, prices tend to increase as people book up rooms.

Royal Caribbean has released its Alaska 2022 cruises, which are available to book now.

In 2022, Royal Caribbean will send four cruise ships to Alaska, making it another big cruise season for the cruise line in the region.

New Alaska 2022 cruises are available to book between May and September 2022.

According to Royal Caribbean these new sailings are available for Crown & Anchor members on November 10, 2020, and the general public on November 11, 2020.

Ovation of the Seas returns to Alaska in 2022.  She will offer a transpacifc sailing from Sydney to Hawaii in April 2022, and then sail from Seattle and offer 7-night Alaska Glacier cruises.

Quantum of the Seas will also sail from Seattle, and offer 7-night Alaska cruises.  The Royal Caribbean website only lists one Alaska sailing for Quantum, so more could be loaded in later.

Both Quantum Class ships will vist scenic cities and towns along the Northwest coastline, including Victoria, British Columbia; Sitka, Skagway, Ketchikan and Juneau, Alaska.

Radiance of the Seas returns to Alaska again to offer 7-10 night Alaska cruises that can also combine with Land Tours to offer immersive visits to Alaska, including in-land destinations such as Denali. Radiance of the Seas will sail from Vancouver, British Columbia.

Sailing alternating, open-jaw itineraries between Vancouver and Seward, Radiance will introduce a second northbound itinerary that includes a visit to Icy Strait Point – a port owned and operated by native Alaskans.

Rounding out the Alaska deployment will be Serenade of the Seas, which will sail out of Vancouver and offer 7-night Alaska cruises, as well as land tour options. Serenade even has a 7-night Multi Glacier Experience cruise for six weeks of the season.

Guests on board Serenade can extend their stay with Royal Caribbean’s signature CruiseTours, a series of 2- to 6-night pre- or post-cruise land tours led by local experts.

Radiance and Serenade of the Seas will further expand Royal Caribbean’s reach with a fresh take on 7-night itineraries anchored by visits to Haines, Sitka, Ketchikan, Juneau and Seward, Alaska.

Royal Caribbean announced some new changes to its winter 2021-2022 cruise schedule for the Caribbean and Australia regions.

The changes encompass six ships, which offer new ships, as well as new itineraries, from a few different ports. Royal Caribbean says, "we’ve listened to our guests and valued travel partners, and are ready to share some Winter 2021 – 2022 deployment updates."

Vicki Freed, Royal Caribbean's Senior Vice President, Sales, Trade Support and Service announced the changes during a webinar with travel advisors, "We've modified our schedule to make room for some incredible new itineraries."

Royal Caribbean issued a statement that elaborated on the changes, "Our new deployment line-up provides guests with greater variety, including new itineraries in the Caribbean and Australia that will help strengthen the cruise line’s footprint globally."

These changes are in addition to five other Royal Caribbean ships that were redeployed for summer 2021.

Caribbean

Explorer of the Seas will sail 7-night Southern Caribbean cruises from San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Explorer will replace previously scheduled sailings on Freedom of the Seas.

Freedom of the Seas will offer 3- and 4-night Bahamas and Perfect Day at CocoCay cruises from Miami, Florida.

Radiance of the Seas will offer 5- and 9-night Caribbean cruises from Miami, Florida.  Radiance will replace Explorer of the Seas.

Australia

Royal Caribbean will offer new sailings from Brisbane and Sydney, including 25 itineraries sailing from Brisbane to 18 destinations across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

Ovation of the Seas will sail from Sydney, Australia and offer guests a variety of sailings, including:

• 9/12 night New Zealand cruises
• 5/7 night Queensland cruises
• 6/8 night Tasmania cruises

Quantum of the Seas will sail from Brisbane and offer 3-night Weekend Getaway cruises along with 7/9 night South Pacific sailings. Quantum of the Seas will be the newest and biggest ship to ever call Brisbane home

Serenade of the Seas will also sail from Sydney and offer 7-night Australia cruises.

These new itineraries are currently open and available to book immediately.

Guests who may have been booked on the previous sailings should be hearing from Royal Caribbean soon with their rebooking options.

Individual reservations will be moved to the new ship/sailing on-or-before October 30, 2020.

The re-accommodation of Groups with at least one (1) named reservation will be completed on-or-before November 18, 2020.

Last week, the cruise line announced it would redeploy five cruise ships for summer 2021 based on, "market research and valuable feedback from guests and travel partners".

The new itineraries bring variety and options for Caribbean and European sailings and are available to book immediately.

Europe

Adventure of the Seas will sail a mix of new 4- and 5-night Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona.

Jewel of the Seas will sail from Copenhagen and Stockholm on 7-night cruises calling on Northern Europe ports of call.

Caribbean

Independence of the Seas will call Miami her home for the summer season and offer a combination of 6- and 8-night cruises to the Southern and Western Caribbean.

Vision of the Seas will sail from San Juan, Puerto Rico in summer 2021. She will offer 7-night Southern Caribbean cruises.

Brilliance of the Seas will remain in Tampa and sail 4-, 5- and 7-night cruises to the Caribbean.

Royal Caribbean’s other summer 2021 cruises will sail on as planned in the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Five Royal Caribbean cruise ships will have their summer 2021 schedules changed up, as the cruise line announced an update to its deployment plans.

Royal Caribbean says it made these changes based on, "market research and valuable feedback from guests and travel partners".

Our new deployment line-up provides guests with greater variety, including a season of short Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona and more island time in the Caribbean with additional summer homeports in Tampa, FL and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Guests with confirmed bookings between April and October 2021 whose cruises are affected by these changes will be notified directly within the next three weeks, as the new itineraries are added. These existing bookings will continue to be covered by Royal Caribbean’s Cruise with Confidence program.

Europe

Adventure of the Seas will sail from Barcelona and offer a mix of 4- and 5-night short Mediterranean itineraries. She was previously scheduled to sail from Copenhagen and Stockholm.

Jewel of the Seas will sail from Stockholm and Copenhagen on 7-night cruises to the Baltics and Scandanavia. She was previously scheduled to sail from Amsterdam and Barcelona.

Caribbean

Independence of the Seas will sail from Miami instead of Fort Lauderdale for the summer season, offering 6- and 8-night cruises to the Southern and Western Caribbean.

Vision of the Seas will cruise from San Juan, Puerto Rico to the Southern Caribbean. She was originally scheduled to sail from Barcelona.

Brilliance of the Seas will stay in Tampa for the summer, offering 4-, 5- and 7-night cruises to the Caribbean. She was originally scheduled to sail from Miami.

Royal Caribbean’s other summer 2021 cruises will sail on as planned in the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe and Asia-Pacific. 

Individual reservations will be moved to the new ship/sailing on-or-before September 28, 2020.

If a future cruise credit was leveraged to pay for a reservation on a cancelled itinerary, the FCC will be reinstated for future use, under its original terms. Likewise, for impacted guests preferring to cancel in lieu of a re-accommodation offer, the reinstatement of the original FCC will occur, opening the flexibility to select an alternate future cruise of his/her choice, within the set parameters of the FCC terms.

Royal Caribbean has released its Short Caribbean sailings for May 2021 - April 2022 and they are now available for booking.

Adventure of the Seas will sail out of Galveston, offering 4- and 5-night Western Caribbean sailings.

Brilliance of the Seas will alternate homeports between Tampa and Miami.  While in Tampa, she will offer 4- and 5-night Western Caribbean sailings.  Her summer season will take her to Miami, where she will sail 6- and 8-night itineraries to the Western and Southern Caribbean.

Explorer of the Seas will reposition from Miami to Galveston in April 2021, and then offer 4- and 5-night Western Caribbean sailings.  She then moves back to Miami in October 2021, to offer longer Southern and Western cruises.

Independence of the Seas will start off her season in Fort Lauderdale, offering 3- and 4-night sailings to the Bahamas and Perfect Day at CocoCay.  In November 2021, she will move up to her new homeport of Port Canaveral and sail 3- and 4-night Bahamas & Perfect Day itineraries.

Mariner of the Seas will remain in Port Canaveral, but shift to 4- and 5-night Caribbean and Bahamas sailings in November 2021.

Navigator of the Seas will remain in Miami, offering 3- and 4-night Bahamas & Perfect Day itineraries.
