WHStoneman
We have booked Cuba for 01/20/20 and are considering if we need to purchase travel insurance from an outside vendor. Arch RomeRight & CF Travel Insured. Any thoughts?
Matt
First and foremost, any insurance purchase is more about your individual risks and what you are looking to cover. What are your concerns about Cuba that are leading you to consider travel insurance?

Being 70, catastrophic emergency medical care would be my ONLY concern. I am in perfect health, but you get to a point in your life where these things are of concern. I guess I was a bit confused based on the title of this thread that you had a concern that you needed travel insurance specifically for travelling to Cuba. I'm going to tag @Christie because she mentioned a medical-only travel insurance option that I was not aware of (instead of travel insurance that covers medical and travel delays/cancellations). FWIW, I personally use Allianz for my travel insurance. About to put my first claim in with them, so it remains to be seen how good their service is. Christie
I use insuremytrip.com to compare different medical only trip insurance plans. It compares the different plans for you. I've found these plans to be very reasonable and offers me a peace of mind to not get some huge medical bill on board. I had a medical claim with RoamRight last June, and it went very smoothly. The key is to read and understand the coverage. I may try what AAA offers on a future cruise.
