JennyB
The friends we are cruising with (Independence of the Seas, 12/6/18-12/10/18) were told we could get "mexican vanilla" while in Cozumel...anyone have any information on this? arebee
I've never bought any but know some who have. Find a place in the shopping area and get some. Shouldn't be a problem bringing in on board since it isn't alcohol. JennyB
melski94
Just be careful and read the label and hope it is accurate. It should have vanilla bean extracts and 35% alcohol and that is all. It should not have coumarin. Here is an article about Mexican vanilla and coumarin. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/vanilla-iced/ Bring ziplock bags to make sure it doesn't leak on its way home. monorailmedic
It is abundant in many types of shops at and around the port - in fact once you look for it you'll find it hard to miss. JennyB

Baked Alaska
Vanilla extract DOES have alcohol in it. Just bought 32 oz from Spice House. Double Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla. Hoski
Mljstr
Buy your vanilla at Los Cinque Soles right at the pier. It’s delicious and coumarin-free.

Hoski
We travel to Mexico once a year and always bring lots of vanilla back. Just check the labels and enjoy. They have all price ranges.
TheresaS
My sister works for US customs and she said I could bring back as much vanilla as I wanted. Hoski and WAAAYTOOO 1
