o1matt
Hi everyone. I have been a long time reader but this is my first post. I have gone on many Royal Caribbean cruises; however, I have always driven back home. I would like to fly for my next cruise but I worry about making it to the airport on time. I am hoping someone would have some advice for me. Here are the details: April 21st sailing date on Allure of the Seas. Return to the Port of Miami on Sunday April 28th. The rerun flight is out of the Fort Lauderdale airport at 12:18 PM. A family member that lives in Miami would be our means of transport to the airport. This flight is $200 cheaper than all of the others. That is the only reason I am trying to make this one work. I appreciate any advice
SPS
A 12:18 flight is plenty of time to disembark and reach FLL. You'll just need to plan on taking an early enough departure from the ship to disembark, clear customs, and collect luggage. We've taken a flight from FLL around that same hour and got there with PLENTY of time.
mbk999
As long as the ship is on-time, you shouldn't have any trouble, particularly if someone is picking you up at the cruise terminal. Either self-assist with the luggage on disembarkation or try and get an early slot for the luggage tags.
DRLPP
I agree with above posts. It should not be an issue. Just to feel safe, I would request an early luggage tag or self disembark with luggage if you are lightly packed. Worst case, I usually have travel insurance for any real mess ups.
