ericreev
Just returned last Sunday from a 7 night on Liberty. I played blackjack only the first 5 nights, at least 5 hours every night,, usually the $15 dollar table, but occasionally the 10. Playing mostly the minimum, with a sporadic 20, 30:, and even a couple of $50 bets mixed in. Before gambling on the six day, I visited the casino host, to see what sort of points that amounted to: 540. I hope this is helpful to the curious out there. tonyfsu21
This does not seem correct in any way. The amount of time/bets you played certainly does not add up to 540 points. I think your missing a “0”. Not possible.
ericreev
I can only tell u that is what the casino host told me on the sixth day
tonyfsu21
Were you actually gambling 5 hours per day or walking around in the casino 4.5 hours and betting 1/2hr per day? The math doesn’t add up and I would hate to see you lose comp points because of an incompetent host.
ericreev
Sitting with my butt planted, with occasional bathroom pit stop from at least 8pm - 1am every night. One til 3am a couple of others til 2:30am. So straight playing. Was there a mistake in the points total? Who knows, possibly I earned prime status with 2 cruises last year. Eric Yeah RC needs to get this under control if they want to keep players gambling. I’ve heard others with similar issues as well. I spend a few hours per night rotating between slots, blackjack and roulette and always walk off the ship with 8k+ points. I do bet significantly higher but never the less, our time in the casino is similar. I can’t help but think my points are attributed to either: A. Excessive tipping to the dealer while pit boss in sight. B. Always making sure the pit boss and dealer are tracking my play. I normally will ask. In in any case, sounds like you were robbed of some points!
AGSLC5
I think the problem was not his play time it was his average bet.. depending on how the cruise is going for me my bet can range from $15 a hand to $100 a hand.. and I play from 5-8 hours a day on a sea day and at least 4 hours a day on port days. I was told on my last cruise in July that yes they care how many hours you play but they more care about Average bet per hand.. I find if they don't rate me at at least $25 a hand I don't get a lot of points. So I make sure especially when I am doing well and betting $50 or $100 a hand that I have the pit boss come over and change my average bet in the computer. I then after that session check my points with the host to confirm I was accurately rated.. I know betting $15 a hand for 4-5 hours a day feels like a lot and trust me I get it but to them its just not a high enough bet.
ericreev
I do appreciate the suggestions, but this was more of an FYI. The advice about tipping in front of the pit boss and making sure they are tracking are both good. This was a compted trip from last years play. I will probably be on 2 more before March 31 when this years evaluation ends, so I don’t need 2500 points all on one cruise to hit prime again for next year. The more $’s gambled the more points. I played next to at least 2 individuals who dropped $6000 plus at the blackjack table. I’m positive they already received status for next year. On the other hand, I played all week, probably close to 35 hours on a free trip, and ended up $50 on the positive side in the casino for a weeks worth of entertainment. AGSLC5
Eric, with the new rules as long as you accumulate 2500 points throughout the year (April 1- Mar 31) Then you get to keep your prime status. So if one cruise you earn 600 and another you earn 1900 your good to go. I go on a variety of cruises because I live in Ft. Lauderdale I take about 8-10 cruises a year but a lot of them are 3 nighters. I would say about 4-5 are 3 nighters. Then about 2-3 are 4-5 nighters and 2-3 7 nighters. On the 3 nighters its impossible for me when betting about $25 a hand to earn 2500 points in three days lol. On a 3 night cruise I probably earn around 1000 points. Its the 7 night cruises where you need to make up your points. On those I try to earn 4000 points so I can get the free balcony cruises plus I'm Signature so I have to try to get up to 25,000 points which I'm not sure if I will be keeping again for this year but we will see I do have 6 cruises coming up before the end of the rating period. Also I think you ended up with a win. Like you said you played 35 hours on a free trip and didn't lose any money to me this is a big WIN. Glad you had fun. ericreev
Your up to signature, Great! Me, I'm fine with a free inside cabin with prime. I've stayed in a balcony 3 times before, the other 9 were inside cabins. They are fine. I just didn't sit out there that much. I need 2 more for Diamond Plus. That's more important to me eric AGSLC5
