That's a result of the Non Disclosure Agreement they signed. Bottom line is Royal Caribbean is not closing the US call center.

Matt
Another report: https://www.registerguard.com/news/20180831/royal-caribbean-disputes-rumors-of-mass-layoffs-at-springfield-call-center Quote “Our Springfield facility is not closing, and layoffs are not in the plan,” the company said in a statement. “Several weeks ago, we shared an update with our colleagues about reassigning some call center work to other locations. This will be done over time and only applies to some positions that are vacated by colleagues who decide to retire or leave voluntarily for other reasons. We do not have plans to let go of anyone as it relates to this. We have been in Springfield since 2005, and it is a community we will continue to call home in the future.”
Traveler
Call center jobs are one of the jobs with highest churn rate . So when RC saying "Our Springfield facility is not closing, and layoffs are not in the plan,” the company said in a statement. “Several weeks ago, we shared an update with our colleagues about reassigning some call center work to other locations. This will be done over time and only applies to some positions that are vacated by colleagues who decide to retire or leave voluntarily for other reasons" they mean they will let nature do its own , If RC will stop bringing new people to the call center in the US it will be quite empty in 6 to 9 month. Maybe the will keep the second level support in Springfield.
monctonguy
yes...that's what I took away from this..they wont refill or hire and new positions. And as people retire or leave..their empty positions will be moved elsewhere...so essentially it will eliminate many jobs at this location. I live in prob the capital call center of Canada here in New Brunswick and have worked for the biggest bank in Canada at one before..and I can tell you..its all smoke and mirrors and political BS when it comes to hiring and closing/moving these centers... All depends how you word/spin it......
