Following along. Have a great cruise!  Trying to see how I can get another cruise in sometime soon. Missing it since our first back in March on Harmony.

That's how it started for us....trying to squeeze in every bit that we can.

Following....oh boy....cruise day...my favorite! Just wish we were cruising too.  We spent the weekend at Myrtle Beach instead.

Could always YOLO and book it! ?

YIPPEE !!!  Have a GREAT time.

Envious.  I'm sitting in the airport in DC for a DELAYED flight that is going to get me to Chicago JUST late enough to miss my connection to lovey Fargo, ND.  I have a glorious 8 hours in Chicago to look forward to before the NEXT flight to Fargo.

Why am I not on a cruise again ??  Oh yeah.  work.  UGH

Hello from Chicago. Are you at Midway or O'Hare? You brought back memories. I had a good friend who lived in Fargo. I have been there several time. Please have a buffalo burger for me. The meat is very lean. Now you can get some REAL pizza.

Pretty uneventful flight into FLL. We are checked in and settled at Hyatt Place now as I sit here to update this. Everyone is either napping or relaxing. D9 seems to have picked up a second wind.

First impressions of this hotel is that it is a decent pre-cruise hotel. I did not bother to scope this as there was nothing extraordinary about it but definitely more than sufficient accommodations for one night. The room sleeps 6. Two double beds and the sofa pulls out into another double. My only gripe is that the sink area is outside the shower area. I don't like that set up. Other than that, very spacious.

VVVVVVVVVV

The plan is to head out for an early dinner in a bit....La Bamba! ? Then we'll call it a night.

wow...impressive! What hotel is this??   NEVERMND.....HELPS IF I READ, RIGHT!!

Lyft Plus from FLL to MIA $72.28.  It took us about 40min to get to the port. Check in was a breeze. We arrived at the curb at 10:45pm, on board by 11am. There is a separate check in and waiting area for JS and above. I did notice that there are a lot of "visitor groups" on board today.

Suites waiting area: tight squeeze as the day visitors were also here.

Thanks for the live blog and scopes, @Lovetocruise2002! Love that you've been able to line some of them up with my lunch hour; you're so considerate! ?

Question from your last scope, just tuck this away for when you're back home / definitely no rush on this: How was the rate for this JS compared to the JS you had on Anthem? Obviously has to be worked out to the per-day cost since this cruise is so much shorter, but I'm wondering how Royal is pricing these rooms on this newly refurbished ship doing these almost party cruises, compared to the same class of rooms on a ship that's more known for cold weather getaways and at least slightly longer itineraries.

Also wondering if Adventure is being priced similarly to Mariner on a per-day rate, since both have been refurbished (though Mariner got way more bells and whistles); probably needs input from @CruiseLifeRick to get that full picture. Basically trying to work out if Adventure or Anthem is the better "bang for the buck" given equivalent JS bookings.

Granted, Anthem has CK for JS, and that's something of an unquantifiable factor. But Adventure has itinerary options Anthem doesn't, like that open-jaw leaf-peeping itinerary, so...

Just in terms of raw  money required per-day to even book a JS, this would be some good info to have. And then I can plug it into my spreadsheet! ?

So...Anthem worked out to $652/night (that is in Canadian dollars) and Mariner was $587.50/night (USD). That is for the same 4 people. However, with Anthem, it was KSF and free gratuities for 2 people. Hope that helps.

Our Adventure sailing in May, junior suite for 4 adults including gratuities was $611.84 per night.

Queue @Matt - he loves the Spaghetti Bolognese!

So you survived a trip to the MDR sans Coastal Kitchen. I'm impressed.

I know! I told D12 that was one of @Matt's  favourite dishes!

And yes, still alive and smiling after MDR. Actually, it was quite empty. We ate from 6-8pm and it was not even 1/2 full. We missed our reserved time but we did not have to wait at all when we did show up. I asked our waiter about this and he said people on this ship tend eat much later.

Ice Under the Big Top was one of the more entertaining ice shows that I've watched. I did not scope it but the clown scene was one of the funniest! Make sure you make an effort to watch this one if you sail Mariner. For those not on Periscope, here's  a short scope from the show. Oh, and my kids absolutely loved it! D9 wants to meet the cast and get autographs. I told her to put that on her Genie list for March ?

We are having a great time! No complaints so far! Thank you for your kind words @Floski. And post those mani pics when you cruise in November. ?

Junior Suite Room Tour:

There are 4 JS that were added in on Deck 11 during the latest dry dock. Really happy with our choice here. The cabin and all furnishings and cabinetry are all brand new.

We have our first ever JS on Mariner in October and I am absolutely LOVING the pictures! That room is SO BIG! ?

Also - from that night 1 MDR menu, that grilled polenta veggie dish was one of my absolute FAVORITES from Adventure in February. We are only planning on doing night 1 in the MDR (in favor of Izumi and Jamie's the next two nights) so I'm really excited that that's the one on our menu!!!
