Dinner with kids

Mine has always dined with us in the main dining room since he was 2 years old. Occasionally, he'll dine with the Adventure Ocean staff when available.

Another option is to feed them at the Windjammer before the Adventure Ocean opens, drop them off, and then do dinner while they're there. However, there's no need to do this as the dining room operates just like any restaurant.

If you can give the ages of the kids, that might help.

Oh been there done that!!  It depends of the kids...You will see on your first dinner how things go but make sure you discuss with the waiter (without being a pain) for your the rest of the week like having the kids favorite drink or fruit bowl when you get to your table.    You choose the kids meal first so the crew can serve them quickly. Also, you can bring their favorite entertainment at the table with you....(Ipad with fav movie)....I know it sounds bad parenting but people around you have the choice to look at a kid watching a movie quietly or to have a kid screaming is lungs out or running all over the place.   The windjammer is another option if you feel the dinning room is not an option....you're in and out quickly and you can enjoy the ship while people are having dinner. The kids club as well is good of you want some me time...  Remember, you have the ship's time, Island time and kids time...So no panic, you are on vacation.

Adventure Ocean offers a program where the kids come with you to dinner at 6pm, then you tell your waiter they are leaving with AO at 6:30 and the kids get an expedited dinner.  You then walk them out to the entryway of the MDR at 6:30, and AO staff is there waiting to they take the kids to AO while you and the rest of your party enjoy your dinner.  You can pick up the kids anytime before 10pm (there is a fee for after 10pm pickups).

There is no cost for this service, so take advantage of it.

Nice avatar, BTW.

This is a great service.  We tend to book second seating dinner but take my daughter up to Windjammer for dinner at first seating.  We feed her and then drop her off at Adventure Ocean when she's ready.  My daughter eats at a snail's pace.

We have been cruising with our son since he was about 5 or 6, we have always given him the option of having pizza/buffet/burger, etc. and then going to kids club or joining us at dinner in MDR. About 99% of the time he prefers MDR and especially the last couple of years (he's now 12) he looks forward to it.

He really enjoys dressing up a tiny bit and respectfully requesting what he would like from the waiter.
