marianne
I am going on my first Royal Caribbean cruise in August for my honeymoon and my fiancé and I are very excited that we will be going on the Oasis of the Seas! We are driving to Fort Lauderdale and my question is- are you able to park at the port where you get on the cruise? Does anyone know who I can contact about this to make sure our car is okay there for a week? Also, any suggestions on hotels close by to where we get the boat? We will be staying there for a few days before. Thanks! markinct
AGSLC5
Of Course you can leave your Car at the port. It is expensive though it costs about $20.00 per day. If I were you I would look for a hotel that lets you park there for a week for free and has a shuttle to take you to the port. markinct and Matt
markinct
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza when we sailed on Oasis in April. Convenient location - it was really cool seeing our ship from the hotel when we went to breakfast. We had flown into Ft Lauderdale, so we used their shuttle from the air port to hotel and hotel helped arrange a shuttle to cruise port for $8 per person. (We used the same shuttle service to get from port to air port after the cruise). The hotel has cruise packages as well that might include parking: http://www.ihg.com/crowneplaza/hotels/us/en/fort-lauderdale/fllhi/hoteldetail/hotel-packages For what it's worth, I found the hotel to be clean, well maintained, and quiet. Front desk and bell service staff were professional and friendly. The restaurant in the hotel is a touch expensive but good. I'd stay there again. Enjoy your cruise! I guarantee that you'll find some things aboard Oasis that you'll love!
WAAAYTOOO
Marianne, first of all, CONGRATULATIONS ! I have to say, you have picked the best possible honeymoon, IMO. The Oasis is SOOOO awesome. I do not know what your budget is, so this recommendation may not be practical for you, but my FAVE place to stay prior to a cruise out of FLL is the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood. I absolutely love their rooms and being right upstairs from the casino floor is so convenient. There are LOTS of things to do at the Hard Rock Hollywood (NOT true for the Hard Rock Tampa property). I just love it there. We are staying there the day/night before the group cruise on the Allure in Feb. 2016 with a whole group of friends. Upsides: Awesome property, lots to do, beautiful accommodations Downsides: Expensive ($400+ a night usually), no shuttle to/from the airport or the port, I suspect they would charge you to leave your car parked there if they even allowed you to do that at all. So, I'm not sure this is a practical option if you are driving. We never have a car b/c we have to fly in so we don't have that problem to worry about. It's a fairly cheap cab fare to the port from the hotel so we just grab a cab and go. Good luck, Congratulations and enjoy your honeymoon on the Oasis ! markinct
Matt
There is parking provided at the port but as others pointed out, there are cheaper off site options.
jticarruthers
Oasis/Allure have a dedicated terminal in Ft Lauderdale. When we did Allure the parking lot (open air not covered) was right outside the doors of the terminal, I think it took us about 5 minutes from clearing customs to being in the car and on the road. Saves some money to park offsite but the convenience of that parking lot in particular was worth it to us. I know there is also a covered parking lot around the corner that uses a shuttle service (free) but if you are going to get stuck shuttling anyway then you might as well look at an offsite lot and save some money as well. michelle
Hi Congrats to you! if you google - Park and Cruise Port Everglades, you will see hotels that will allow you to park for free if you stay 1-2 nights or they charge a small fee, but cheaper than the port - if youprefer to do that these are safe from what I can tell - The port also is safe albeit more costly Check each site to see if they have free shuttles or actually how far away they are from the Port too Hotels only Embassy Suites - Holiday Inn - Renaissance are all right on 17th Street and the Port is about 1 mile from these hotels so easy cab ride or shuttle markinct
