FloatMe
what are the minimum bets on the table games in the casino on Allure (caribbean cruise)? I asked this question about Adventure several months ago and I was pleasantly surprised when we sailed to find that the the minimum bet was $5 all of the time. I was surprised because the tables were generally busy if not full every njght. Is Allure also $5? Do they raise the minimum when they are busy (@ night)? How many craps tables are on the floor? WAAAYTOOO
The table minimums for most games is $5. These minimums do not go up which is lovely. There are certain tables that have higher minimums (there is a $10 min blackjack table, a $50 min. blackjack table a $6 min. blackjack table) for the high rollers...which are few and far between. On the ships with a live dealer, the ships always try and make the no limit poker a $2/$5 minimum but they will take it down to $1/$3 if nobody wants to play for $2/$5 (that is just a trick to try and get a higher rake for the house). Most people are now aware that if you just refuse to play $2/$5 they will reduce the blinds down to $1/$3. Unfortunately, the Allure and Oasis still have their electronic poker machines and they have set blinds ($2/$5) so if you want to play poker on the Oasis or the Allure you're going to be playing for $2/$5. I haven't been on the Allure in a while so I don't know who the casino hostess or the casino managers are on that ship these days. As a rule, the big ships have very good hostesses and managers and their programs are usually well managed. I'm looking forward to the casino on the Allure in Feb ! Matt
On Quantum it was never higher than $5.
WAAAYTOOO
Sorry...forgot to answer your question about the craps tables. If my memory serves me well, there are 2 craps tables - 1 in the smoking section which is open most of the time whenever the tables open (usually noon on sea days) and then there is another one located in the nonsmoking section which usually only opens in the evenings around 8PM. Not all of the ships have 2 craps tables....there are 2 generally just on the bigger ships. Don't know about Q class since I haven't been on one. Hince57
i couldn't remember the table minimums from my time last year on navigator, but glad to have this refresher for next week; love the games but also love the low limits.
WAAAYTOOO
I'm jealous. Wish I was going next week. What ship ?
Hince57
Navigator again. Really wanted oasis but couldn't justify the price this time. I'll make up for it with allure next spring. Love having a ship in Texas. People on our cc roll call are really worried about the flooding but I think we'll be fine
WAAAYTOOO
Yeah, be safe. Things are pretty dicey down there. I have some friends named Hince in Texas. I know it's a big state... :) Retired Army...previously lived in Woodbridge, Virginia ???? I love the Navigator. We sailed on her last year and had one of the inside rooms with virtual balcony. It was awesome !

FloatMe
So, it's been a while since I originally posted this, and I noticed on another board that they thought the tables were more than $5. Any recent experience in the Casino on Allure!
WAAAYTOOO
No, the table limits are the same as they've been....at least, on the ships I've been on. FloatMe
Fermat
Well things may have changed. I am sailing on the allure right now, and last night around midnight and tonight around 9 pm, there was not a single table below $10. This includes the craps tables. I may ask next time i walk thru if there are better times to find $5 minimums. I just dont play otherwise. There were 4 or 5 empty tables too, so i'm scratching my head as to why they are making things so difficult.

The Craps tables were empty then too. By Thursday they started cutti g the to $5 just to get some action. I'm on Freedom now and I am happy to report all tables are $5 minimums. No if they would only allow more than single odds on the craps tables.

Seriously?!? I've only ever played in land-based casinos before, but 2x odds has always been the minimum I've ever seen. Do you bother to take your odds in that case, or just do your pass line bet and leave it at that?
RBRSKI
Didn't want to start a new topic just for this one blurb, the Indy is getting ready to sail across the pond and will not be back until the fall. She is on the web cam now.

baltodave
I was on Adventure last year and the tables were $5 min. As I was playing craps, I was helping a newbie standing next to me. He had a nickel on the pass line and the shooter rolled a 5 or 9 (don't remember that level of detail). So, the newbie puts down another nickle behind his passline bet and I advised him to put down 2 chips because it pays 3-2. Well, the bossman told me "no, can't do that- single odds". I was shocked. The best you can do when the point is 5 or 9 is to put down a single on top of your nickel (to make a $6 odds bet). Other than that, I loved the $5 table. Wife and I are sailing on Oasis end of June. It's bad enough that the casino is so smokey. I sure hope the tables are $5 or they won't see us in there.
WAAAYTOOO
When we were on Harmony everything was a $10 minimum and they never adjusted it. The only time you could play for $5 was first thing in the morning the table mins were reduced for couple of hours....and the craps tables were never open during that time anyway. It looks like the rule of thumb is....new ships - higher mins. Older ships - lower mins
SouthernYankee
We were on Harmony last fall and for 3 days between Rome and Barcelona tables were $10 minimum. Many people were upset including several Casino Royale members. When we left Barcelona for Ft. Lauderdale the tables were $5 minimum for the 13 day voyage. Have seen occasional changes, once on the Vision but they changed it back after a couple of days.

And if you bet $5 or $15 you are able to lay $10 or $20 odds respectively if the point is 5 or 9. That is the only advantage low rollers like me can get. They do allow up to 3x odds if your pass line bet is $25 or more (not me!)
DocLC
I need to spend more time in the casino. When I saw the topic, I thought someone was asking what the smallest table size was in the MDR. WAAAYTOOO
