Labadee question re: loungers

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Five of us going to Labadee in late November on Oasis. Three of us have a morning slot on the zip line but my mum and aunt will just want to sit on the beach that the zip line crosses in front of. Are the sun loungers/chairs on that beach free to use? I can see ‘sun loungers for two’ on the cruise planner but is that for the little semi circular sun shade type loungers on the picture or just the normal loungers (like you see around the ships pools).

If the normal loungers are free to use, are there plenty of them or do we need to be straight of the ship as soon as possible to get one?

Any advice welcome, thanks

You can get beach chairs for no cost (usually just a cash tip for the locals to help set it up for you.

The clam shell loungers have a cost to them that you need to prebook.

Thanks Matt, when you say beach chairs is that the type you find around the ship pools that you can either sit or lay on?

Do they get taken quickly or is there plenty  of them?

Thanks

They are similar to the ship's deck loungers but plastic framing.

There are plenty of them and you will not have a problem getting a spot on Adrenaline Beach side.  I do recommend moving over to the other side(Barefoot Beach) after the zip line.  The water is much calmer and does not have as many sharp rocks.

I love Labadee.

These are the typical loungers that are available and are included at no cost.

This area is called Columbus Cove and the beach is better for swimming but there are no views of the zip line here.

This is the area near the zipline

Both beaches are beautiful but the water here is more rocky on this side as it is exposed to the Atlantic more.  If anyone plans to swim bring water shoes.

The first picture was taken early in the day before many people had left the ship and you can see how easy it is to get loungers.  If you have a large group and you want shade that might be harder to come by as the day progresses but generally speaking it isn't too difficult to find something.  A small tip to a beach attendant goes a long way and they are locals who can always use the money in a country where a good job is hard to come by.  They can help find a few chairs and group them together for you.
