This absolutely made my day ...... So glad I work with MEI (Michelle in my case) ----

The girls will come around ..... encourage them to watch YouTube videos of the ship and your destinations, that'll get them ramped up.

I'm sure they will. How I got them hyped up for the Navigator was i found a Minecraft server where someone rebuilt the ship. They were roaming around, and even found our room. ?

Bravo MEI !  SO happy that this is coming to a good end.  There are so many lessons here.  Twangbot's are extremely important - our children DO learn to handle life's disappointments (and joys !) from us and we don't know until WELL after it's too late that the way we handle crises is exactly the way they will handle crises.  Another important lesson here is to be persistent (well done, alamode123) and not accept the answers you sometimes get if it's not what you want !  The third lesson is one we hear over and over and over again on these boards.  A GOOD TA is worth waaay more during adversity than they are when things go the way you want them to go.  I LOVE my Agent (Michelle Cunnningham, in case there's a soul on this planet that doesn't know yet).  She works hard for us.  Very hard.  Believe it or not, I am NOT the easiest customer to have !  ?  I ask for stupid stuff and have her check prices WAAAYTOOO often.  I cancel and rebook, change rooms, overreact and whine.  But she couldn't be more professional and attentive.

To be completely honest (now that the crisis has passed) I did not expect this unfortunate scenario to end well for alamode123.  I have heard MANY such stories (there shouldn't even be ONE) and they rarely (never ?) work out in the passengers' favor.   Honestly, I think this might be the one and only time I've ever heard of Royal actually changing their minds and offering an alternative option to what their pathetic offers usually are.  So, hooray for this time.  The girls and you are going to have a great cruise.  It won't be long and you will not even remember that your cruise was originally booked on a different ship.  The truth is, you are getting a BETTER ship now and you will all have the time of our lives.  Good deal !

Woo Hoo to Annette and Sharla - I know its always the best thing to hear when someone has your back and works out a problem for you
We have a great team of agents here.

Thanks Raye for always being so supportive - you are the best client - and keep 'em coming!  I can cancel, reprice and rebook
All day long if you need me too

HAPPY Weekend people

They already have my new cruise in the system, so booked ultimate dining package, Coco cay cabana and soda/internet for the girls. Im sure the drink package cost will drop.

So glad you were able to find a resolution. As a parent (of now college-aged boys) it's a good teaching moment for your kids, that life is not always going to go the way you want it too, things happen, and it's how you deal with it that matters.  Stomping your feet and throwing a tantrum gets you nowhere, but time and patience and working through the process gets you everywhere.  Things will always happen that is out of our control; learning how to deal with them is a key part of growing up.

Ok I think I need an MEI TA!  I booked quite some time ago.  Is it too late for this cruise??

60 days after booking and before final payment due date.

It never hurts to reach out and ask.  If nothing else it gives you a contact to use if something pops up and you want a quote on a cruise.

Okay okay I give up!  I’m transferring 1 (2 if they’ll let me) cruises to MEI today- I was hesitant to do so because I worked for a cruise only travel agency for three years and thought I knew all the ins and outs. Plus I enjoy all the research etc But the magic they worked for @alamode123 reminded me I don’t have the clout of a major agency behind me any more if a problem comes up. We got nada for our cancelled cruise in spite of my calls, emails and protests. I ‘ve learned my lesson.

Can MEI re-quote on Club Royale casino rates as well?  I am thinking about transferring my bookings.  I have 20 people in my party who all booked through Club Royale.

Yes !  This is how Michelle became my permanent agent.  Not only does she know how to twist arms with the cruiseline, she knows all the tricks of working directly with Club Royale.  She did an amazing job for us when we had the disaster with Empress.  All of our cruises are booked through the casino.

Ok Michelle, Sharla, Annette..,  I’d love to bounce ideas for my next cruise off of one you.  AmI allowed to post my email address here?

Feel free to email me directly at [email protected]    I will match you up with one of our many agents that can help you with your plans.  We have a great team here to help you find the best price as well as to work with those unusual situations.  I wish I could say we always win when we go to battle with RCCL (or other cruise lines or suppliers) but we do give it our best effort to fight for our clients.

We love to help support Matt, the blog and his community.

Was contacted by Brock? Any experience with him out there?  Seems very nice but some type of track record would be appreciated.  As I am only 12 days from final payment, I am not turning this reservation over to MEI.  Dont want any issues with the reservation being in limbo when final is due.  But I have told him our plans for our next cruise.

Brock has been working on RC bookings for quite a while and I've met him multiple times over different RC cruises. Great guy and knows his stuff.

Perfect, thanks Matt.  I am a pro at Disney trips but I think an agent will be the way to go with cruising.  Thank you all for getting me hooked up.

Thank you for supporting this blog! As an added bonus,Brock knows WDW quite well so feel free to shoot the breeze with him about that too!

Daughter works for Universal and 2-3 trips yearly for the past 10-12 years, I got Disney down to a science.  But I love to talk about my trip plans.  Poor Brock will probably get a (Mickey) earful!!!
