“Suite Lounge” ........

Nope. You don’t exactly “slip in” with the casino rate. To get a significant discount on a suite you need to spend ALOT of money in the casino! We’re not talking penny slots. Apples and oranges.

Its the same.  Casino rates mean you are not paying full suite rates.  Besides the casino operation is a 3rd party.  RCI just gets a cut.

The quickest path to Pinnacleness would be 50 cruises solo with an average 7 night duration.  Cruise as a couple and it's a hundred cruises.  A few times a year there are cheaper inside cabins but if you only sail during those times it would take 30-40 years to gain Pinnacleness.  In the real world the typical pinnacle has spent in excess of $100k each and many of them drop money in the casino too and on shore excursions and dining and beverages and so on.  They don't get free drinks like casino people do.

Cheating you way into a suite lounge through the casino or earning it through years of money spent directly to Royal (not the casino operator) is the same thing.

I’ve spent well in excess of 100k on RC and I’m diamond. I am cheating nobody. Suites still cost a lot of money with or without the casino rates. I cruise on Holidays where the casino rates have a minimal impact (because I can). Sorry but it’s not the same thing.

I'm not saying you haven't drop some coin, but so have Pinnacles over their years of loyalty.

It is the same which is why RCI has the policy that they do - both of you are allowed in the Suite Lounge.  Diamond Plus are not as they haven't earned it.

If its that important to you maybe it's time to try MSC since they have a wall separating suite guests from non-suite guests.

I'm not taking anyone's side on this, I've been on both sides looking in, I'm Diamond so I get the free drinks every night at any of the participating bars, which is more than enough for my wife and I, so I really don't need to go to the Diamond lounge our the suite lounge, I have been looked down noses at, and regretfully have found myself looking down my nose at others, have been rep-remanded for not wearing long pants on Formal night (My wife wanted a glass of wine, what can I say) and I have said I should rep-remand people for their dress or actions. I don't like the way that "some" Diamond, D+ and Pinnacles take over the lounges like it is their own (Little Cliques) but yet my wife and I have been invited to join these groups because we frequently cruise on our own.

But with a limitation of space on a ship I think we are going to have to live with it, I don't think they are going to open a separate lounge just for Pinnacle and heaven forbid they are going to come mingle with us lowly Diamond people.

Like I said in a previous post, it will take me 38 more Suite cruises (In 2018 dollars, that is approximately $228,000) once I reach Diamond+ (In 2019) to make Pinnacle, but I'm booked in a suite the next 5 cruises so I will get to enjoy the diamond lounge and/or the suite lounge as I please, one of these will be a Star Class experience so maybe after that, I will look down my nose a little more, LMAO...

Spectrum will supposedly take that up a notch with separate elevators for suites and more space dedicated to suites much like MSC has done on SeaSide.

I easily forget what I read so forgive me, Spectrum is entering the Asian market?

Quantum when in China has made the Solarium suite only.

Plus a pool on the suite sundeck just like in the Yacht Club on Seaside.

NCL has something similar too with their Haven product.

I personally think it is great the RC is following the competition.  The pool on the suite sun deck has been long awaited.

Royal need to figure out a way to cool the Suite deck down, at least on the O class, the air does not move through there well because of the roof sheets on the Solarium. It can turn in to a sweat box up there, especially in some of the cabanas...

They have tweaked the layout on Symphony.  Wonder if they'll update the suite sun deck on Oasis in her upcoming dry dock.

hadn't heard this, what exactly is Royal doing with the Spectrum?

all just rumor right now but stand by as has been pointed out many times on this forum all the other lines are doing it so royal is just following suit the haven msc and the ability to upgrade your experience I suspect that most of these perks will be kept on the down low to a degree to minimize hurt feelings of the unwashed who cant afford such luxuries I for one always wondered what was behind that door on 14 that many went in but few came out the plot thickens

I guess this is what happens when you live in the swamp, like me.  There is only ONE thing that comes to mind whenever someone mentions "agency" around here !

That's who @twangster is, he's Jason Bourne, no wonder there are not pictures of him, he's a ghost, he uses the cruise industry as a cover to travel from country to country.

He's ID must have gotten burned over on Carnival...

Yes,  we have been super busy.  Since going on that cruise we have been to Disney for a week and spent two weeks in Eastern Europe,  plus holiday stuff.  We are super far behind on things we want to do,  but am definitely meaning to finish the final couple days.

Hey, @Rimmit I think you posted in the wrong topic LOL. Glad you have fun in Europe and Russia.

I know on the smaller ships the Concierge lounge is somewhat dominated by P, but I dont necessarily mind it, I'm there for the views, snacks and drinks, not trying to have a haves and have nots experience.  It does feel though as a new suite guest that this sentiment is kind of echoed in the concierge lounge.  The P's looking down their noses at the suite guests who havent paid their dues to be P (and hey it takes a WHILE to become P, so hey I get it)  and then the suite guests looking down their noses at the P's going "they're in an inside stateroom and they get to come into OUR lounge, we paid more money than them"

I dont think on the smaller ships that there would be a separate suite and P lounges and have them utilized enough to be worthwhile to either passenger, but I am hoping that on the larger ships we see more of a "norwegian Haven" experience with more exclusive benefits but at an increased cost for the suite to have the separate area for the suite guests.  And if the Pinnacles want that experience, then I'm sure in the Pinnacle benefits there might be a route for access to the suite only area (cabin upgrades, etc)
