Casino Royale Tier Level: Introduction Packet

A) This is nuts that there is so big a discrepancy in points rewarded given the difference in play time and I assume average bet (although I'll grant you can burn through money at the slots about 20-50x faster than at your typical craps table).

B) It's a serious testament to how freaking tight the slots are.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd just as soon dump my money overboard after the casino host counts the bills, or set fire to it in a rubbish bin, as play those slot machines.

But I don't care about making that second tier, either, so I'll just play my $5 pass line with $5 odds, have my time in the casino last a hell of a lot longer, and also have some fun being social with everyone at the table.

Here is more and less how they calculate the points (its true for most casinos).

Its all about odds and math. each points has value , we can calculate it roughly by looking on the certification  , to get a 1000 $ certification you need 4800 points to get to 4800 points in  slots game (easier to calculate) you need to play 4800*5 = 24000 $  as you get one point for each 5$ you play , remember this number I will get back to it later

Now each game has its own house edge which is the chance you will loose , in blackjack (if playing right) its around 1-2%  in slots , its rally depends on the casino but can be 5% - to 15% and even worse, craps , again depends how you play , if you play the odds it can be also around 1% while 3 card poker is more around 5%.

The way they calculate it for a table game is something like : the house edge * the average bet * number of hands you played = theoretical casino earning  which % of it will return back as perks to the gamblers

The average bet is exactly why everyone say you need to get the host attention (or the pit boss) since the house edge and time of playing are tracked automatically but the average bet is not. so lets say you were on a 5$ minimum  blackjack table  and played for 4 hours but you played 50$ per  game , if the host/pit boss is not tracking your average the automatic calculation will be done as if you played 5$ bet only ...

Back to the slots example , so if the edge is 10% and you need 24000 $ play to get a 1000 $ certification it means your theoretical losing for the "free cruise" will be 2400 $ (they will add to it also the free alcohol in the casino bar).

To get to the same in a black jack table or crap (lets assume 1.5$ house edge)  you will need to  spend 2400/ 0.015 = 1600000$ ...

The average number of black jack hands per hour is around 50- 60  so in other words if you play average of 10 $ to the the 160000$ you will need to play 266 hours ...  while only 26 hours if you play 100$ per hand (which you will get if you play 4 hours  per day * 7 = 28 hours) .

The better the edge of the house in a game , the less time you will need to play .

This not 100% accurate but it can give you a good example why you are not getting so much points playing table game,  I think the most important is to remember :

For the long run the house always wins , so play for fun , do not ever play to get certifications/other perks , 99% of the time its cheaper to pay for it directly.

Yup, this is how I always play. Craps, minimum pass line bet and take my odds. The fun is managing to get a good set of rolls and the chit-chat and banter with the other players as we go up and down. When the table feels like it’s cold, I walk.

I can’t imagine how much money that’s saved me, but I’m still out of divorce court and my wife doesn’t complain when I go to the “adult arcade”, so it must be enough. ?

I need to actually figure out how to play Craps... I've tried learning a couple different times but usually just ends with "wait what just happened".

I usually just stick to roulette - somehow I always end up doing well on the first night of the cruise.

If you ever decide to throw your money overboard or burn it,  just give it to me and I'll do it for you.  Trust me!  I promise!

After some thought maybe I can answer my own question.   It probably has to do at what minimum table you sit at.  If you buy $500 worth of chips at the $10 table as opposed to the $25 or $100 minimum table you probably won"t get as many brownie points.

You will need an abacus to figure out the system.  And HOPEFULLY they won`t have an expiration date. Once again the right hand and the left hand are out of sync.  And what kind of credits will get on an overseas trip.  That will be real interesting.   Oh you won a cruise but it was won in Singapore, or Russia or who knows where.

spacious ocean view balcony.  it's actually a handicapped one (only thing they had a week ago).  you?

I have a junior suite on deck 9. We booked this cruise back in January when the pricing was really cheap. We are also doing a cruise on Harmony on July 21. Originally we were going to do a b2b on Harmony but my friend works for the school board in south Florida and this year they changed how early kids go back to school and we could only do the one week.. Well we quickly needed an other option so we are still doing one week on Harmony but we still had 2 vouchers to use that equaled $1,500 so we are going on Mariner in the Junior suite for just taxes and fees. You will really love the space the handicap room gives. I am handicap and for boats like Harmony I need scooters and shower chairs so I get a handicap room and the extra space in the bathroom alone is very helpful for me. What do you like to play in the Casino? Maybe I will see you there.

wish i had booked this when this cheap...i wasn't so lucky after how late i booked ?

I play mostly Blackjack and a little bit of Roulette. I'm sure we will probably run into each other I spend most of my time in the Casino. My real name is Stephanie by the way and I feel you on wishing you booked sooner.. When I booked back in Jan the pricing was really good. Then the second they announced the big Refurb boom prices hit the roof. Also I live 30 min from the port so I also don't have to pay to fly so for me this was a no brainer. I actually have 3 cruises within the next 30 days so I'm pretty excited. But hopefully I will see you in there and we can win some money.

On our recent Radiance cruise in Alaska I stopped in the casino twice. First night played blackjack for a couple hours and lost $100. Came back on our last day, played in the blackjack tourney ($25) and after getting knocked out in first round put up another $100 and walked away with about $300. So definitely not a high roller.

Today I got an email with my "unique offer code" but seems it can only be redeemed/used by calling my "casino cruise consultant" or pass it on to a travel agent. I passed along the info to MEI but curious as to what it's really worth. Any ideas?

That's very interesting.  I have never heard of a "mystery" deal with CR or one that had to be booked through an agent.  Hope you get something really GREAT !

I called the number and it was Club Royale. I had been looking a ta 3-nighter in February 2019 for our 30th anniversary. No balconies were left. Ocean View when I used the website came up with $1,045 with $75 OBC. The gent from CR gave me a price of $980 with same OBC - so $65 discount. I gave the code to my MEI person and she was going to call to see what she gets. I called after I gave her the code so waiting to hear back.

I'm on Level 26 of MyVegas already ?

Here's screen shots of the email:

I got to the 25K point which can get a 10% discount but it says it CAN'T be combined with other Casino Royale offers. Have you ever tried using the 10%? or just OBC?

I usually give a quick call to the Casino Royale dept.  I ask them to quote me both 100obc x2 and 10%.  I just take the best one of the two.

Both vouchers can be combined with current promos such as WOW promos.  The vouchers are not combinable to Casino Royale offers (casino rates, casino cruise certificates, etc)
