Sunset Sail Away Party - Allure in Nassau

Recommended Posts

Sailing Allure at the end of May and we will be staying in a grand suite (or crown loft depending on the casino land based staff). Regardless we will be attending the sunset sail away party on the bow of the ship on day 2 (Nassau). Has anyone ever had issue taking along other family members that are not in suite level? I’m not above bribing the concierge as we really enjoy the sail away party and the view! On Harmony I was able to take my parents along but this time I have my parents, brother & his wife + 3 kids.

I look at this similary to sharing the drink package. If an area is for suite guests only than imo you would be taking up space and potentially views of those that paid for that experience. Others may disagree just my two cents

There is a GREAT observation deck on 14. Thanks @tiny260  who told me about this place. We went there for our sail away from the Ft. Lauderdale port on March 25th and April 1st this year. Go to deck 14, port side all the way forward, through the sliding glass door and you will be standing on top of the bridge. You can even walk out onto the "wings" that extend from the bridge on both sides. A great view and not that crowded.

I look at it as just a few extra people (for which I will most likely bribe the concierge(s) with $100+ a piece) to tag along with my wife & I. It’s no different then the many suite guests who bribe the concierge to bring their family and friends into the suite beach area in Labadee. I doubt we will take up much surface area on that gigantic bow! On Harmony (during a holiday sailing) the bow looked empty even with all the guests enjoying the party.

I've only done the champagne sailaway party on the helipad once and I don't recall anyone checking seapass cards anyway.  I think that if the person knows about the party then they probably received an invitation otherwise, they wouldn't know to be there.  There is nowhere to sit so we were there only as long as it took to get a drink, walk around, get tired of standing around and leave.  Not a big deal.

So it is not something you know in advance or request?

You don't request it. It's an invitation that is extended to guests staying in a GS or higher. I know Oasis class ships offer this but I am not sure if other classes do anything similar. As far as knowing in advance, IIRC, on our last cruise, the invite showed up in our room the morning of the event. I suppose you could ask the concierge when they contact you prior to sailing. You can probably find out the date in advance then.

Thanks. I am new to RCCL. We are on the Allure of the Seas. I thought the OP knew in advance. I will just wait and see if we get an invitation.?

No worries.  We're all here to help each other.  If you are new to RCCL you've found a great resource here on the message boards.  Are you staying in a suite on Allure?  If so, you should get one.

Agree with @Lovetocruise2002 we didn't get ours until the night before, I believe, because we knew when we went to Labadee that we had to be back for the sail away party.

I think @tonyfsu21 know's about it from previous cruises so is expecting it.

100% correct. We had previously attended the party for Thanksgiving on Harmony when departing Labadee. This was such a cool experience. Yes, you will receive a note on your stateroom (assuming you are in Grand Suite or above).

Yes we have an owners suite. First suite& first cruise on Oasis class ship so lots to learn. Very excited! Thanks everyone?

This is what the letter looks like.  It was delivered by the stateroom attendant.  This was for Harmony but I imagine that the Allure one would be very similar.
