RC -Celebrity Credit card redemption

Recommended Posts

HI all, I know this topic was discussed, just can't find it. I redeemed points for my OBC for Grandeur about 3 weeks ago, still not showing up in Cruise Planner (when I can finally navigate to get to it! LOL), how long does it normally take? I did print out the confirmation from Bank of America though as I thought I read that we should take that. If it doesn't show up, do you call Royal or BOA? Thank you in advance!

I could be wrong, but I'm not sure points from your credit card will ever be available via Cruise Planner.  Technically, those points come from a third-party (Bank of America), so I imagine it's like getting OBC from a travel agent...it will be on your account when you board, but not available for pre-cruise purchases.

Again, I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure you're correct, Matt. Third party OBC doesn't show up pre-cruise.  I cashed in some OBC rewards from my credit card for my last Oasis cruise and didn't see it appear until I was onboard the ship.  The OBC that you receive when you book directly through Royal's website seems to be always available in the cruise planner, however.

@Matt and @firebuck, thank you, I thought it showed up there. I seem to recall some people had issues but it was ok when showing the receipt. That's fine then, that means I can't spend it till I'm on board! LOL!! Thanks so much!  On a side note can you use OBC for the Casino? I think you can but as I age my memory is slipping!

I redeemed $300 OBC from my RC credit card the beginning of Feb. It was posted to my 3/25 cruise last week. Once you get back to the cruise planner, select food, beverage, excursion (something you would have to pay for) and look at the top of the page on the line with "recently viewed, order history & cart" Once the OBC is posted to your account, it will show $XXX.XX  USD CREDIT between order history and cart. :27_sunglasses:

It took over 4 weeks to get posted. Looks like it hit at two weeks from our cruise. Yes, mine showed up at the top of the cruise planner page and also at the top of the page when you select an item to purchase as I mentioned above. On  some previous cruises it never showed up on the cruise planner but it was on my on board account once we got on board. You can check that with the tv  in your room.:27_sunglasses:

And sometimes it may take a day or two to show up on your screen in your room.

Yea, I had a link in my dashboard this morning when I looked, but only on the cruise that is soonest to happening, it linked me to the cruise planner (New) main page, when I clicked on dinner it still took me to the page where I had to enter all of the pertinent information again, so no not really.

I can still get to it from the main page also.

Dan redeemed 60,000 points on March 10 and it showed up ($600 OBC) on our Allure dashboard this morning as usable OBC.  The cruise is 8 April so just under 3 weeks before the cruise.

Thanks for the correct info!

This is the exact information that I was looking for! I knew that promotional OBC showed up in the cruise planner but I doubted that OBC from redeemed points would. We'd like to set up a beverage package for two people but if possible we want to snag that discounted rate that you get for booking beforehand.

I just spoke with them on the phone about it and they said that it will show in cruise planner 2 weeks before we set sail (which is all the way in November for us). I was wondering if maybe they were confusing the promotional points with the redeemed ones but it sounds like people here are saying that even the credit card points will be available, which is great news.
