UkuleleCruiser
One of the things we are looking at for 2019 (and possibly 4th of July this year) is doing two "shorter" cruises instead of our standard one 7 day. So, this could be a three-day, but I'm ideally hoping for two 5 day cruises. I am looking for departure ports that are fairly inexpensive to get to, but also which have enough ships to offer somewhat reasonable pricing during those particular high traffic weeks. I have noticed Miami and Fort Lauderdale seem good. There's even an option out of New Orleans and Long Beach. Any ideas?
jticarruthers
Tampa does rotating 4 and 5 night (5,5,4) you usually get Cozumel on every leg but depending on the combo of 5,5 or 5,4 you would get at least one other port. You wouldn't be able to change ships though it would b2b on the same one. (unless you mixed cruise lines and got lucky with a crossover on the same day)
Matt
Because of the number of flights and airports in close proximity, a cruise from Florida is usually among the cheapest for those short sailings. If your cruise is leaving from Miami or Port Everglades, don't overlook cheaper flights to other airports in Florida because it is easy to take a rental car to the port. Cruise fares are usually cheaper from ports like Galveston or San Juan, but airfare prices tend to drive that overall cost up. Moreover, those ports offer longer sailings, which negates the point of what you're looking to do.
