Kayleigh Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 It has been 4 years since I have been on Indy and in 16 days I will be boarding her again!! Can someone tell me if Fish & Ships is free? I thought I saw something over the years that now this is included in cruise fare. This is not a make it or break it for me, I'm more curious. Quote

Yes, it's now an included venue except for the fried lobster (it switched a long time ago). For future reference, you can find this info in the app. Kayleigh and Thumper44 1 1 Quote

The website contradicts this info listing it as one dollar sign ($) out of four ($$$$) and a sample menu that ranges the items $2 to $10 each. The app may be missing some items (I haven't sailed Indy since 2022 when there was a still a charge for everything) but it shows no price for any item except fried lobster. While I much prefer the website for booking items in the CP, the "sample menus" tend to be unreliable in my experience. Quote

We were on Indy on the March 1 sailing and the only item that has an upcharge (unless they've changed it BACK again since March) is the fried lobster tail....which is much better than it sounds like. Jolly Ogre Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 Awww....I was on Indy in Dec and did not even go as I thought it was still an upcharge. RCIfan1912, OCSC Mike, WAAAYTOOO and 1 other 3 1 Quote
Kayleigh Posted May 14 Author Report Posted May 14 Thank you so much everyone!! I also never trust the website with menus as things change! I figured there was an upcharge for the lobster but good to know about everything else! WAAAYTOOO and OCSC Mike 2 Quote

skywalk640 Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 Sailing on Indy now and can confirm that everything except the lobster is included in your fare. We found the fish (I’m pretty sure it’s cod) surprisingly good and better than what they had in the MDR and windjammer on Taste of UK night. Kayleigh and WAAAYTOOO 2 Quote
Thumper44 Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 Is Fish and Ships unpopular? I was on Indy last year and there was never a line and I'm pretty sure this is the only one in the fleet. But I thought it was a fantastic poolside snack and the idea seems like a prime candidate for an Icon-class food stall. Why isn't this concept as least as popular as El Loco Fresh? My family loved Fish and Ships. Ironically, we had Fish and Ships right before getting off of the ship in Juneau and in all fairness, we thought it was better than the $100 we spent on fish and chips at port. No, its not London pub good, but we really liked it. A secret hack for those who like Royal's chicken tenders, if you are on a Quantum ship, get chicken tenders at the Fish n Ships or Asian Bistro equivalent instead. They cook them small batch and you will get much fresher, crispier, and hot tenders instead of the tenders sitting around at Windjammer or MDR. skywalk640, Ogilthorpe, Pattycruise and 2 others 5 Quote

I know Indy spent a decent amount of time in the UK so that might be why it's there. There were some very UK things on the original menu like a "Chip Butty" which I only knew about from a UK friend of mine. Thumper44 and Ogilthorpe 2 Quote
Ampurp85 Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 We were on Indy in Jan 2025. We ate a few times at fish and ships. I can recall it only being busy once the 5 days we were aboad. I can see the appeal but also why they aren't more popular. It can be a heavy, greasy meal/snack. Hence why more ships have ELF. OCSC Mike, Thumper44 and Ogilthorpe 3 Quote
Doug_Texas Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 Our experience is “free” as well. I LOVE “Fish & Ships”. My wife does the shrimp and it is hit and miss. I try to get the fish as it comes out of the deep fryer fresh and it is GREAT! I often have no MDR appetite because of the number of visits for the fish.
