Ditchdoc Posted April 1 Report Posted April 1 Ditto VVVV PS We are sailing on Radiance B2B on April 10. I already knew we had sailed on her back in August of 2008. It was an Alaskan cruise. Our 25th Anniversary was on August 20. We were fortunate to be invited to the Captains Table that very evening. When you sit at the Captains table you can be assured everything is top notch including what ever you wanted to drink on the house. A photo was taken and given to those participating with everyone dressed in their finest. Unfortunately, this is not something Royal does any longer. I managed to find that old photo and the Captain was Claus Anderson. Of course I had to look up Captain Claus Anderson to find he had moved on to Anthem of the Seas by 2016. He also made news for sailing Anthem into what was supposed to be a typical storm that ended up a Cat One Hurricane. There was some controversy about the weather and who knew what but the Coast Guard said Captain Anderson was at no fault and in fact did an excellent job of handling the ship under adverse conditions. In February of 2022 Captain Claus Anderson signed off Jewel of the Seas after 22 1/2 years as a Royal Captain. Anyway, that was my trip down memory lane today. Next week I will put that picture on the door of our Radiance cabin as something of a tribute to our cruise on her almost 18 years ago. In a couple of years we will celebrate our 45th anniversary. I am not sure just yet where we will be but, God willing, it will be on the ocean somewhere and most likely on a Royal ship. ImOnlyHereForTheInk, KristiZ and Sweety 3 Quote
