Cruise26 Posted January 24 Report Posted January 24 I’ll be on Odyssey of the seas in August, docking in Santorini. I’ve read that Oia particularly is very crowded after 10am. My ship does not dock until 12pm. Would a 1:30 or 4:30 excursion be best (in terms of less crowds). I would rather do a ship excursion but cannot decide which time which would best. Any advice would be appreciated. Quote
twangster Posted January 24 Report Posted January 24 I did Odyssey last August and have it booked again for July. Yes, Oia will probably be crowded. It was last year but still beautiful. Greece has created the high season taxes because of the crowds so pack patience. My ship excursion included transportation both ways in Santorini. They gave us the option of finding our own way back, either waiting in the long lines for the Teleferico, riding Donkeys or walking down the stairs, but everyone stayed with the tour so our motorcoach drove us to another boat dock where a ship tender brought us back to the ship. You may want to consider a ship tour. Quote
Pattycruise Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 Did you check on cruisemapper.com to see how many ships will be in port? Maybe it won’t be as crowded as you think. Quote
Starrynight0154 Posted February 13 Report Posted February 13 We did an early morning excursion. It was great. I remember it getting very busy after 10am. Our guide showed us the scenic overlooks before it was crowded, and we were happy. It was “Island of Santorini and Oia village” 7:45am. Definitely would recommend WAAAYTOOO and PhillyLady 1 1 Quote
