SC2020 Posted January 18 Report Posted January 18 One of the sailings I'm considering is a 6 night sailing on the Allure that goes to Falmouth (+ Nassau and Coco Cay). But none of the Falmouth excursions immediately jump out at me. Wanted to see what others have liked/disliked and what you'd recommend. I am doing a beach day at Coco Cay and probably a DIY day in Nassau. I have never been to Falmouth and have heard lots of mixed reviews. I usually book through the cruise line, but not opposed to going 3rd party. For comparison, I am also looking at sailings that go to Cozumel + Coco Cay (Freedom) and then one that goes to Turks & Caicos + Coco + Nassau; though the Allure is by far the best ship I think. WAAAYTOOO Posted January 18 Report Posted January 18 My only comment regarding Falmouth is….be sure you know the driving distance of whichever excursion/attraction you choose. Many, if not most, of the popular excursions are far removed from Falmouth and require a long drive. Just be sure you know… Ogilthorpe, USCG Teacher, xaza and 1 other 4 Quote
smokeybandit Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 The port area there is built up and can be a way to kill an hour or two before getting back on the ship. Quote
Southern Dan Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 I'm looking at an Allure sailing in late September with that itinerary SC2020. Last time we stopped in Falmouth a year or so ago we walked around in the port area for a bit. Got a couple small souvenirs then got back on the ship. Will stay on the ship if I stop there moving forward if I'm sailing solo, in fact I'll be doing that in 3 weeks while on Freedom. USCG Teacher 1 Quote

We had an excursion booked for Dunn's River Falls. I was already considering canceling this excursion due to my knee injury but just looked it up and it is an hour plus drive one way. You can watch the falls without climbing it, as my wife did. We combined it with dolphins. Quote
Bean79 Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 We like the Blue Waters Beach Escape for a beach day. Quote
loki007 Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 Falmouth is tough, the ship excursions are usually poor and very busy. We've been there 3 time, on 2 visits we hired a private driver and had incredible days. Trip 1 was Dunns River falls (before the cruise excursions get there) a beach break, and Scotchies for lunch, trip 2 was beach day followed by scotchies again but our driver took us to a gated community and we bribed the guards with $20. My wife and I had the beach and beach bar to ourselves all morning...it was unbelievable. The 1 time we did a ship excursion it was to a crappy beach club and sucked. Ogilthorpe 1 Quote
SC2020 Posted January 24 Author Report Posted January 24 Has anyone done "Hampden Rum Experience with Lunch" excursion? CoCo Cay is probably going to be my water excursion day (kayak + beach) and will probably just walk around Nassau so I was trying to think of something different for Falmouth than just another water day or a DIY. Note: I haven't cruised in about 10 years and never on Royal so apoligizies if these are a bunch of newbie questions lol Quote
TravisMA81 Posted February 12 Report Posted February 12 I just did the Chukka Horseback Ride N Swim. It was a lot of fun with great guides. Quote
