mabarnes81 Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 I am looking over the list of C&A benefits and one of them (for Platinum and above) is the use of robes onboard - delivered upon request. What experiences have people had with these? Is it worthwhile to request this (or when/when not)? Quote

My wife always requests a robe and enjoys using them. Quote
PhantomWolf Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 I was not impressed by the robes when we used them earlier in the year. Arms were very short on me and the fabric was a little scratchy. For reference I'm 6' 1'' and the sleeves went a little beyond my elbows. Quote
RockerDom31 Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 We've requested them every time after we hit Platinum. It's the only Platinum perk that we use. They are pretty basic but definitely cover more and dry us better than the provided towels that are in the bathroom. We don't use them out in public (other people do apparently). To request it, you just have to let your stateroom attendant know on the first day when they walk around to introduce themselves. And if you happen to miss each other, you can call guest services and they'll send it as soon as they can. I actually also vaguely remember there being a QR code on the stateroom desk where you can request things like more towels, toilet paper, linens, etc...you might be able to request it through there too. JustinandBrooke Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 My wife gets it. I'm not a robe guy I guess. Quote
barjpoe Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 I not liking the new ones. I don't like the hood and they are quite heavy, weight wise(I think because of the hood). Yeah, the older ones where thin and probably well worn, so they go the newer ones. Quote
judgen Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 All I can say is they are not made for a man 6'4" 265lbs. Quote

WAYNO Posted December 14, 2025 Report Posted December 14, 2025 It's just a robe. I don't wear them, but one time I did use one as a cover while napping on top of the covers. My Wife has also used hers as an extra blanket when the room is chilly. . fireclan and Zeashore 2 Quote

Our favorite attendant hack - ask the attendant for a duvet/comforter to use as a nap blankie. Better yet - just dig into their “kit” under the bed and dig it out, yourself. I think they are wising up to the “do-it-yourself” method though….we are finding fewer and fewer of the “kits” these days. We just keep it folded up on the foot of the bed and it is a wonderful blankie and keeps the bed tidy during the day. Ogilthorpe, fireclan, JimnKathy and 4 others 5 1 1 Quote

Our room is always an oven no matter how low I set the thermostat! Interesting question... We have found at times it takes a long time for the heat and/or AC to respond to thermostat changes. And the thermostat sometimes has a mind of its own. And on at least one occasion, we discovered the thermostat was not working at all. it was not til day 3 that they finally got everything working as it should. Yes, sometimes our cabin is too warm, and sometimes it's just too cool. And sometimes it's just right. WAAAYTOOO 1 Quote
Pooch Posted December 14, 2025 Report Posted December 14, 2025 Our room, no matter the ship or the sailing, is always too hot. I am a firm believer in the theory that the AC cuts out around 2AM. By 3, I am positively sweating my brains out! WAAAYTOOO, Jamesszy94, JimnKathy and 1 other 3 1 Quote

We always find the room too cold so we either turn the A/C off altogether or turn it to warm. Then the attendant turns it to cold when he/she comes in to do the room, never fails. WAYNO 1 Quote

I'm not a drinks package person, so my wife and I usually end up using at least some of the discounts on beer/wine/coffeethings. And I once had to use the laundry discount because of an emergency. On our cruise last week we had a balcony and had to keep turning the temp more to the middle as you could hang meat in there it was so cold! Quote
Ditchdoc Posted December 19, 2025 Report Posted December 19, 2025 Way back when, the robes would be hanging in your closet when you got there. Now you have to ask for them. We never have. Just never felt the need. I did see one couple wearing them on the way to the pool, I think, on the last cruise. That was the first time I saw anyone wearing them in long time. Quote
pat8635 Posted December 22, 2025 Report Posted December 22, 2025 I leave a note for my attendant with a few things that I like so that he or she doesn't have to keep chasing me down. The rob is a like. It is a nice terry cloth robe and very comfy. It was a bit small, but after losing about 50 lbs it is much better! Quote
CrimsonCruiser Posted December 22, 2025 Report Posted December 22, 2025 I think the robes are okay. They are a towel like material but they're warm enough for when the room is morning chilly and light enough to sit on the breezy balcony. I usually end up wearing mine kinda hanging open over my jammies as I have breakfast. Only a few times I've worn it while getting ready for dinner or something. Quote
