Jordan Garritson Posted November 5 Report Posted November 5 Hello everyone, I’ve been looking at sailing on an icon class ship in 2027. There are 4 of us total, 2 kids under 12 and 2 adults. I’m trying to book to connecting interior rooms. Looking on the RC website and also working with a travel agent, it won’t allow me to book connecting interior cabins (one adult and one kid in each room) because my travel agent said RC doesn’t like to sell rooms that aren’t full. When I put all 4 of us in the same room, it pulls up options of rooms that said they weren’t available when I was trying to book 2 rooms with only 2 people per room. I have also look at other cruise dates, even the most newly released dates and it gives the same problem, so I know it’s not a concern of the ship actually being full at this time Has anyone come across this? Any remedy? I understand I can book us all in one room on a suite or something, but that’s not what I truly want. Any advice would be great, thanks! Quote
dustfsu Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 2 people in a interior is double occupancy so that is considered full. Even if you are sailing solo they make you pay as if two people in the cabin. Don’t know how much you have used your TA but maybe try someone on the main page for the site and contact MEI travel. We recently switch travel agents that was quicker to respond even when she is on vacation themselves. RCIfan1912 1 Quote

When you put 4 people in the room it gives you a different selection of rooms because it has to show you rooms that sleep 4 people. When you put 2 people in a room it will mostly show rooms that only sleep 2 and MAY show some that sleep 3+. These are actually different categories of room. You may need to look closely at the connecting rooms and note their exact category. I'm not familiar with Icon but if the connecting rooms all sleep 3+, then yes they would prefer to book them for larger parties but it should still be possible to book them as a party of 2. Quote
