Debstr66 Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 I searched the blog topics looking for information regarding purchasing liquor from the ship's General Store. Can you drink your purchases in the cabin, or do you have to wait until you disembark and take the purchases home? My friend is looking for alternatives to the drink package. I doubt it's an option. Thanks in advance! Quote
WesKinetic Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 They will hold it for you and then it will be delivered to your room on the last night of the cruise. Same with any liquor you may purchase in your ports of call. So to answer your friend's question, no, it's not a way around paying for drinks on board or for the drink package. Debstr66 1 Quote

AshleyDillo Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 They do offer some small bottles of liquor for pre-purchase and delivery to the room at https://www.royalcaribbean.com/royalgifts/ Keep in mind these are 375mL bottles, so that's only about 6 2oz shots of liquor. Debstr66 1 Quote
Debstr66 Posted October 24 Author Report Posted October 24 Thank you! I told her about those packages where you can get a tote bag and some form of liquor, but it's not a better option than coughing up the money for a DBP when it's on sale. Quote
loki007 Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 you can take on a couple bottles of wine with you to consume in your stateroom Quote
smokeybandit Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 Note you don't need a drink package to purchase alcohol. You can pay as you go. PRMLVM 1 Quote
dustfsu Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 Depending on how much the drink package is you have to drink 7-10 drinks a day to break even. So think about what ports you will be in and how long you will be off the ship. The package does work in Coco Cay and Labadee if you stop there, but in other general ports you are on your own. Quote
Pooch Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 I’ve found it really only takes 5-6 drinks to break even. On our upcoming Allure cruise, it only takes 4. I have only taken 8 cruises so not as seasoned as most here but I’ve never needed to have 7-10 drinks to make the package worth it. I do admit I do not drink beer so that may be the difference in the equation. WAAAYTOOO, Dan05 and TXcruzer 2 1 Quote
