(I didn't see anywhere else to post a general question) Why am I getting this message when I post something? Is it because I am fairly new? If so, when does it go away?

Yes, @Matt and the rest of us mods here decided to automatically moderate posts a few years ago to prevent spam posters. Moderation drops off once you have hit a certain number of posts. I cannot remember how many exactly.
