gi333 Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 Hi guys. my cruise just dropped 200$ . Is it normal that royal carribean doesn’t want to reprice as it is only for new bookings? Costco travel told me this. Im abit surprised. I was able to reprice a cruise once no questions asked and i didnt have a refundable deposit. thank you Quote
JasonOasis Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 You can reprice any cruise as long as its before final payment date. Quote
smokeybandit Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 You can reprice, but the rate at which they'll quote you for a reprice may not include any promo prices intended for new bookings only. Ryan79 and RCIfan1912 2 Quote

The TAs there would not reprice things since it would lower commission (or at least that’s what they said). We’ve saved so much by using another agency both with reprices and group rates that I'm glad we’ve switched. Maybe I’d do Costco for the shop card if it was a last minute cruise within final payment date, but even then I like my regular TA to get the commission. good luck! Quote
gi333 Posted October 4 Author Report Posted October 4 I have been reading that since august they became more strict on repricing and tell people that its only applicable for new bookings the new price. Anyone else heard this? Been reading this on facebook groups. Quote
BR34 Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 Listen to the Q&A of Matt's latest podcast. There was a question about this. Seems like its the same its always been, just representatives that do not know the policy. Call back and try again. Quote
gi333 Posted October 4 Author Report Posted October 4 They actually called royal on the other line and they were told this. Quote
BR34 Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 Have them call again. Listen to the q&a at the end of this that was just posted this week. JasonHoward 1 Quote
FOB Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 I have never been able to reprice for a cruise booked from the U.K. nor can we get refundable deposit prices one of those lovely quirks of having a different legal system Quote
gi333 Posted October 4 Author Report Posted October 4 I called again and they wont accept. They said again only for new reservations. I will call directly royal carribean to see what can be done. Quote

I use Costco travel on all of my cruises and car rentals and they reprice my cruises all the time. A majority of the time they can do the reprice on their computers without calling Royal. Call them back and ask for a supervisor. I would also mention to the supervisor what the other rep told you so they can do some additional training. Costco is a very large company and some of the time you get someone that is new or is not very good. I just call back and if I am irritated I just ask for a supervisor so I do not have issues. Most of the rep are very good and are paid by the hour so they do not mind spending time helping you. InmyElement 1 Quote
gi333 Posted October 4 Author Report Posted October 4 I called royal directly and i was told the same information. Flash Sales are not elligible for reprice. I would be curious to ask Matt directly because it seems to be happening to alot of people. Quote
ChessE4 Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 I wouldn't get too obsessed with repricing because of ads if you paid a reasonable price at booking. Example: For a 2026 cruise our balcony room is 1610 per person with taxes for 8 nights. Royal now says 1575 on sale, but they pick the room. To pick your own room is over 2400 per person, 800 per person more than we paid for our preferred location. Quote

Mike n Ky Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 Flash sales are being listed as new or group only. Matt Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Sorry, but you got Costco'd. Costco has terrible customer service when it comes to their cruise reservations. In my opinion, you're trading away getting the customer service you deserve in exchange for their gift card offer. Did you know you can't do a Royal Up bid simply because you booked with Costco? Yes, lower price means lower commission. But does that mean not to do it? Where is the line? An interior room is lower commission than a suite, do they not book interior rooms because it's lower? Repricing means more work for less money, that's true. But, happy clients will come back to you because you did a great job. It's overall picture, not one cruise.
