Swoosh Posted July 25 Report Posted July 25 My family of 4 (kids are 18 and 20 so all adults) are looking at taking a cruise during the first week of January. I've settled on either a 6 day cruise on the Oasis or a 4 day cruise on the Wonder. Price wise, for two adjoining interior rooms they are only a few dollars apart for the trips. I know the Wonder is newer...but is there anything special about the Wonder that makes it the better choice. Put a different way, is there anything I'll miss on the Wonder that makes it worth losing two whole days for the same price on the Oasis? Quote
Ampurp85 Posted July 25 Report Posted July 25 Although Wonder is my favorite ship and has all my favorite restaurants, plus the best ice show. I would go for longer days. 4 days on a ship of that size isn't enough imho. Oasis has a lot of good restaurants, minus Mason Jar which is on Wonder and the best Aqua show. You can't go wrong with either but it will come down to days and money. tjcruisers and ChessE4 2 Quote
cruisinghawg Posted July 25 Report Posted July 25 Either are fine. Wonder has better shows and is newer with a few more bells and whistles. But Oasis has been enhanced and is "The Original". Ampurp85 1 Quote
smokeybandit Posted July 25 Report Posted July 25 For a new cruiser, the ships are close enough to being the same that 6 days is much better than 4 days Ampurp85, TXcruiser33, cruisinghawg and 1 other 4 Quote
OCSC Mike Posted July 25 Report Posted July 25 Agree with @Ampurp85 & @smokeybandit. Even I would choose Oasis b/c of 6 > 4... and I'm one of Wonder's biggest fans. Ampurp85, SebagoSue, cruisinghawg and 1 other 4 Quote
WannaCruise Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 Agree with others. I'd pick 6 nights over 4. A 4 nighter is fine but it does go fast (well so does a 6 nighter). Both are Oasis class so you'll have an aqua show, ice show, production show, comedy show, zipline, waterslides, etc. Wonder is newer but Oasis did go through a refurbishments (cabins not touched though as long a that doesn't bother you). I've been on both and both fantastic cruise ships but just for the longer cruise I'd go with Oasis (when we went Wonder was 7 nights). Quote
Vincent Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 Funny, we too were looking at these dates before deciding on West Coast. You can't go wrong with any of the Oasis class ships, and would agree that 4 nights is not enough time to enjoy all that these huge ships have to offer. However, I feel you should also consider the itinerary of each. For January 26, both stop in Nassau, and if open on time there's Royal Beach Club, but only the Wonder 4 night also has Perfect day at Coco Cay, and that in it self may be worth choosing over the 6 night imho. If port stops and locations matter more, then Oasis also stops in Falmouth, Jamaica & maybe Labadee, Haiti (if opens back up by then). Quote
Swoosh Posted July 29 Author Report Posted July 29 Thanks to everyone who replied...we are going with the Oasis. This will be our first RC cruise so I don't think we will miss any "differences" between the two ships so the 2 extra days makes too much sense. WAAAYTOOO, TXcruiser33 and LauraOzo 3 Quote

Plus it's ok to pay homage to the one that revolutionized the industry! OCSC Mike, Ampurp85 and WAAAYTOOO 3 Quote
gavvy Posted July 30 Report Posted July 30 I loved Wonder except for one big thing, and it did change my mind on going on her again- The Solarium is enclosed and was just too hot to stay in, and we love to spend all day in there but on Wonder it was just far too hot for us. For that reason alone, I would choose Oasis, even though it's older and a slight downgrade. Quote
