A and L_Ont Posted August 21 Report Posted August 21 Just caught up, but enjoyed the Coles Notes version of your review in Instagram. Congrats on the great upgrades along the way. We put our RU bids in for November on the RS, UFS, and SLS. I’ll have to watch for the notifications a few days before. Glad to see that you are all feeling better too. Never a fun feeling. As for the wave, Justin is right. A ship with 2 waves is the only way, unless the ship is a new one. I have to “plug my nose” for Icon, but we already have the wave booked for two private rentals and will also get the Star Class hour. The sacrifices I make for Lisa. Looking forward to the next few days of your adventures to come. PPPJJ-GCVAB, WAAAYTOOO, Sweety and 1 other 4 Quote

Lovetocruise2002 Posted August 21 Author Report Posted August 21 Captain just made his departure report from St. Kitts as we begin the journey back to Florida. He said it should be a smooth ride with no more than 6 foot waves. He also mentioned that during that crazy night/morning when we were trying to avoid Erin, we had waves of 16 feet and 17 feet at certain points. Ampurp85 Posted August 21 Report Posted August 21 How was St. Kitts? I am venturing here for the first time next month. None of the excursions really call to us, so we plan to just walk the port. Quote

Both times we have been here, we have considered the scenic railway, which is always popular, but then decide against it. Hiking is also popular here if that’s your thing, but it’s certainly not mine MaryS, Ogilthorpe, Sweety and 3 others 5 1 Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted August 21 Report Posted August 21 We did the railway on one of our first trips to St. Kitts. It was ok. Not a particularly comfortable ride and WAAAYTOOO long.....but the scenery was really beautiful. We also did some kind of a general area tour and I recall visiting a batik "factory" (really just a small business) which was interesting and I recall seeing a bunch of small, green monkeys, which I understand are NOT indigenous. It's always beautiful there though... JohnK6404, Sweety, MaryS and 6 others 8 1 Quote

Ampurp85 Posted August 22 Report Posted August 22 Considering you do travel quite a bit to cruise I can sympathize with your daughter. 7 days isn't enough, which is often why I stack cruises. Our first stop there, we did an excursion that included stops at the Fairview Great House and the Brimstone Hill Fortress. Holy. Views. Assuming the weather is good, you can see everything from up there and it’s gorgeous (as long as you don’t mind the insane drive to the top). On our second stop there, we did a tour that included a stop at the overlook where the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea nearly meet; we then sailed to Nevis and stopped at the Alexander Hamilton house. Lovetocruise2002 Posted August 22 Author Report Posted August 22 I walked by Next Cruise earlier on the way to Starbucks. Have not done anything yet. Basically, my situation is this. We are already booked on IC 7/18 and I am not willing to move that. I cannot tag anything after that because we need to get home to go to Iceland. So whatever I tag on has to be before that. I wanted Allure, but the dates do not line up. I pretty much opened my search to anything within Florida, willing to drive or take the bright line to get from one port to another, needs to have a flowrider, and dates have to get me back in time to get on IC 7/18. The best one I came up with was WN. But do I want to be on WN again? It will be our 4th time if I book it? Anyone with any other suggestions let me know before tomorrow Sweety, Ampurp85, lovetheplaya and 4 others 7 Quote

Ampurp85 Posted August 22 Report Posted August 22 Personally as long as the ship is okay, WN definitely is, I don't care how many times I sail them. I was looking to sail out of port Liberty for my dance card and the option is........ Oasis. I will have been on her for 4 cruises this year and despite this, she is still in the running unless I decide not to sail port Liberty. Plus I know you don't want to do any of the smaller classes, so WN might be the best way to get in another cruise. Lovetocruise2002, OCSC Mike and Robert M 3 Quote
