So glad I found this board....where I learned how important it is to STAY ON TOP OF YOUR CRUISES OMG.  We have learned to breath a sigh of relief and enjoy our trips ONLY once we are on board.  Here is the latest glitch:

We booked a GTY suite for an Alaska Sept cruise.  So did our son.  Since we learned from here (and then from subsequent experience with other glitches), we have been watching our booking.  They have us in a GTY interior! and my son too.  We called and gave them our receipt info and she said it was a glitch that occurred during some sort of system transfer (your guess is as good as mine) and yes, we are all in the system as GTY interiors!  She put us on hold "to check if there are any suites still available"  EXCUSE ME???

We were able to get it worked out (assuming our excursions, reservations, etc remain attached) but had we not been constantly checking checking checking, this would have been ANOTHER royal screw up. 

We do love our cruises on Royal but their constant "IT" issues have us almost nervous wrecks before we get there.  Moving our rooms, deleting our PAID FOR cruises, over billing...it's a constant battle.  It's like being loyal to your idiot kid.

Check your reservations weekly (daily?) everyone!

Yep.  This happened to us a few months back.  The silver lining that came out of this mess was that they assigned us a room on the spot (once I called to find out WTF they had done) and so I was able to move to a more desirable location before everything was sold out and there was nowhere left to move [to].  They actually screwed up 2 separate reservations with the same glitch but luckily ours both got resolved favorably.

Like you, @PRMLVM, I feel bad for those people who don’t know any better and then get humped b/c there’s nothing that can be done to fix it down the road.

One other note.  WHY can’t they list the complete information on your GTY cabin on the website (or app) ?  When you click “more information” to see your room #, it will just show “GTY”.  How much harder would it really be to show the actual cabin category (XB or XS or Whatever the actual category is) ?  Then you would know for sure that something was amiss with your reservation.   …but b/c it only shows GTY, you have no way of knowing that they are really holding the CORRECT GTY category.   It’s baffling to me why they can’t include the actual GTY category.  We don’t do GTY very often but when we do, I want to know that they have it right !

We have a suite guarantee on Explorer in November (casino comp). I'm definitely worried that they will mess it up at some point. I keep checking the price between the guarantee and a Junior Suite but it's more than I want to pay. I have found that if you click "Manage reservation" it shows "deluxe/suites guarantee", which gives me some short-term peace of mind that nothing has changed.

Thanks for the info on “Manage Reservation”. Is that a new feature ?  I don’t recall seeing it until a week or so ago.  I’ve never actually clicked the link !  😂

I’m looking for a link to manage reservation. Is that in the app or website?

i dunno man.  When hubby saw ours say "gty interior" his instinct was to trust the process.  I reminded him of when Royal canceled our cruise (without telling us) due to imaginary money due on a pd in full cruise......he called! and they confirmed what we saw in the "manage cruise" screen.   Just sayin.  At least one of these damn glitches should work in a cruiser's favor.
