viv joh Posted May 30, 2025 Report Posted May 30, 2025 Hi all I'm new here, what would you do if you experienced a serious anaphylactic reaction to known food allergic reaction from the main dining room? They have the list of known allergies but still made this mistake on the last day. How do you escalate if the post cruise didn't do anything better? Quote
Pooch Posted May 30, 2025 Report Posted May 30, 2025 I’m assuming the person went to the medical dept? Documented the listed allergy & what they were served? Got guest services involved? If not, I don’t think landslide CS will be of much help. You can contact the Executive Offices mbayley@rccl.com viv joh 1 Quote
smokeybandit Posted May 30, 2025 Report Posted May 30, 2025 What was the response when you went to guest services on board? Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted May 30, 2025 Report Posted May 30, 2025 If a passenger goes into anaphylactic shock, he/she would be taken immediately to Medical. I do not believe this post is sincere. TexanTwoStep, RCIfan1912, SPS and 2 others 2 3 Quote
DanielB Posted May 30, 2025 Report Posted May 30, 2025 I have a mushroom allergy and travel with my EPI pen even though I have never had to use it. Royal is horrible with allergy requests. The main dining room (dinner, not lunch) is quite good, but the rest is uncertain. I have emailed before the cruise and have filled out a special needs form. The reply states their policy, but it varies ship to ship. Oasis made my omelet at WJ in the back kitchen, since the on-stage kitchen has mushrooms; the rest just wiped the skillet out. I am lucky it is not a severe allergy, and most that has happened is hives and swelling, but I was told that as I age, it could get worse or better. So the EPI is just in case. DanielB Posted May 31, 2025 Report Posted May 31, 2025 One and done post.... Hopefully not a real person, as I would hate for this to happen to anyone. RCIfan1912 and WAAAYTOOO 2 Quote

My young niece has severe nut allergies and they've always taken very good care of her. It may help that she only eats like 5 things though. Quote

Oh, the humanity....... Ironically, growing up, I hated the texture and would tell everyone that I was allergic to them. Then my mother made something and snuck them in, and well, I was allergic. A few hours at the ER and all is well. Sadness is no fries at Playmakers as they use the fryers for mushroom items. WAAAYTOOO 1 Quote
