RC Crown & Anchor Casino Royal Certificate

Just wondering if anyone had a problem waiting for RC Casino Royal to be issue a Certificate before the end of a cruise.

I was given a Casino Royale VIP status on the last leg of my transpacific cruise from Honolulu to Sydney (Radiance of the Seas - 18 nights), in Sep/Oct, 2017. I, again, cruised from Singapore to Sydney in Oct/Nov 2017 (Ovation of the Seas - 14 nights) and was given the Casino Royale VIP Status and was promised a Certificate by the Casino Royale Manager, before disembarking in Sydney on 07/12/2017.  The day of the disembarkation, I approached the front desk and was informed that the CERTIFICATE will be emailed.  I am still waiting and have contacted a few people, but it seemed that nobody cares.  I have played at the Casino Royale and would like to receive a response in regards to this.  I have 3 other cruise reservations with Royal Carribean this year, 2018, so the CERTIFICATE would have come handy.

I have never heard of anyone getting a certificate in the mail.  I would be very dubious about this statement.

A similar thing happened to us last year.  While in the casino one evening, the hostess (with whom we have a fairly friendly relationship) told Dan (called him by name) that he had earned a free cruise.  He thanked her and we expected to get a certificate on the last day as we normally do.  However, the certificate never materialized.  When we got home, we called Club Royale and told them the story.  The person on the phone said that they would have to get in touch with the hostess in question and resolve the issue.  A number of days later, Club Royale called us back and gave us a certificate number to reference when we made our "free" cruise reservation.  I have no idea what transpired behind the scenes....all I know is that they made good on their promise and we got our certificate.

So, I recommend that you contact Club Royale directly, tell them the story, and see what they say.  Frankly, I was very surprised that we got our certificate.  I figured that since we did not get it before we disembarked, it was history...but they did make good on it and we were very happy.

It sounds like maybe you might not be in North America so I'm not sure that the phone number we use is the one that you would use, but for what it's worth, the Club Royale number is 1-888-561-2234.  You might also contact them via email at ClubRoyale@RCCL.COM

A piece of advice.  ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS call Club Royale when you make any kind of cruise reservation.  Most likely (there's only been 1 exception to this rule for us since we've been members) they will offer you a better deal than you will get using ANY of the Royal promotions.  If you want to use a good travel agent who knows how to work with Club Royale and get you the BEST possible deal, contact Michelle Cunningham with MEI.  She has gotten us some deals that seem almost illegal. :9_innocent:   [email protected].  703-986-0661

Best of luck !  ...and welcome to Club Royale.  Things are in great flux with the program at the moment but overall, it is very rewarding.  Let's hope it stays that way.

WAAAAYTOOO- Do you recommend I use Michelle w/ mei? Have you gotten even more substantial deals then the casino royale customer phone line can offer?

Tony, I do.  Has she gotten me deals that I don't believe I could have negotiated myself ?  Yes.

In particular, she got a rate of $278 for both of us on our last cruise on Allure (over Thanksgiving).  It was a D1 hump balcony.  Now granted, this was a comped cruise but the comp was only for an inside.  She somehow upgraded us from an inside crappy room way in the front of the ship to a D1 balcony hump for $278 on a HOLIDAY cruise.  The total price for this was $693.96 which included taxes, port fees and gratuities.

Is it possible that I would have gotten that deal on my own through CR ?  It's possible.  I will never know b/c I had Michelle do it but whether it's true or not, I perceive that she has negotiated a better deal than I would have gotten if I had done this myself.

She did it again on our upcoming Allure cruise (April 8).  The total to upgrade our comp from an inside to a D6 balcony right near the elevators was $318.

What do you have to lose ?  Give it a try.  If it works out, great.  If not, go back to doing what you've been doing.

Good luck !

Thank you, WAAAYTOOO, after 6 weeks of emails and calls to RRCR, I finally got my CERTIFICATE which is equivalent to USD750.00 or a free cruise in the Carribean.  As we have already booked a Carribean cruise with NCL, RRCR was able to apply the credit to one of my 3 RR cruises this year (NCL Breakaway, Feb 2018, RR Voyager x 2, Apr/May 2018 & RR Radiance, Nov 2018).

That's GREAT news !  You are very fortunate.  I have not heard of Club Royale applying a certificate to an already-booked cruise in quite some time.  I'm so glad it worked out !

Just coming off of the Grandeur January 2 cruise, (yes that cruise) and was promised my cruise certificate before I got off in Port Canaveral. Never got and on the morning of debarkation went to Guest Services and they couldn't help. Was told that the casino staff was unavailable and to call CR, which I did. They reduced my certificate, that was originally $300 (according to the casino hostess) to $100 and was allowed to apply it to an existing cruise.

For the first time in my life I didn't want to argue with a cruise line, so I just took the $100 and used it.

So that's a good news-bad news story, Candie.  Glad you finally got it and VERY happy to hear that they would apply it to an existing cruise.  Sorry they reduced it.  That's really unacceptable but I know that was the cruise from hell so maybe it's as good an outcome as you could have hoped for.

Maybe they are softening the "no certificates to pre-booked cruises" rule, which is very good news.  Certificates for less than $750 are basically useless to us unless we can apply them to an existing reservation so I will cross my fingers.
