@Matt, I don't know if you've done theCruiseGlobe thing yet, but I hope you do and please share it.  Those of us who haven't cruised as much need something to aspire to!

Please take a few screen shots of your globe and let us see your total stats.  We're dying to know what it looks like 😊

And I'd like to see other people's globe as well!

Here's mine; we've been painting the Miami-to-Cozumel part of the map.

Interestingly, viewing the map makes me want to connect the dots and extend the lines.  I suddenly feel compelled to do a Panama Canal transit and branch out to a trans-Atlantic and also Hawaii and Alaska cruises.

It's a pretty cool website: The Cruise Globe

Great map!   Did you find anything interesting on your routes?  I was able to locate the course change when we had man overboard false alarm one time.

Yeah, before 2015 there wasn't satellite data available.  But they are trying to work around that and give approximate routes.  They're also adding river cruises and, eventually, future cruises.

I know; this is scratching an itch I didn't even know I had!

I knew I had this itch. I have a fog of world map that I use to track all of my land travel and Flightly for flights! Big data nerd here!

Kind of disappointing there are some gaps in their database for many cruises in between 2016 and 2025.  Some common routes too, it's not all of those were on obscure ships in weird places.  Dozen plus cruises didn't compute for them.

Cool idea, poor execution.

Kind of how I feel about the Bahamas and the Caribbean.

I'm not even bothering to look up mine it would be so boring (although we don't mind). I'd have one random Seward-Vancouver line and a bunch of overlapping loops around the Bahamas and Caribbean.

3 of the first 5 cruises I inputted didn't have the data and that was the end of my interest in the website

They have a team to correct gaps in the data since 2016; some of my cruises were corrected after a few weeks.  And they have a plan for cruises before satellite tracking.

Do you know what the yellow dot is near Stockholm on your map?

Green dots are embarkations, red dots (usually trumped by green) are debarkations.  I don't have a yellow on my map.

That is a good question. I'm not seeing the yellow dot anymore anyway.

I think it was from this cruise, which was a one way overnight on a baltic cruise ferry from Tallinn to Stockholm, that had like a quick little 'technical stop' in the middle of the night for, I assume, some sort of duty-free loophole.

Still fascinating; 1 day cruises are pretty rare

Yeah, I agree; I found out about these overnight cruise ferries a while back, so when I knew I was going to be in that part of the world, I figured it was my opportunity to check one out.

I need to get on this too! Looks so cool! I have always wanted to see something like this.

Edit: boo....no stats for any sailing prior to 2015...

you can put the ports in manually for the pre 2015 cruises. But my brain has long since forgotten the details of all the ones I took that far back

Had to post in 2 parts - Europe and Caribbean is part one and then Alaska, Hawaii and Transpacific is the second.
And the third is from September 2024 when we did a cruise to Alaska and had to outrun a storm. Made it to Juneau and that was it - so there are some interesting circular detours as we wasted time heading from Juneau to Victoria

I WANT to do this but I don't have the details of my early cruises (laptop dump).  I don't guess there's anywhere else to get that info since the old cruises don't have any data.  😪

This site uses AIS data which is limited to something like 2014 or newer so my old stuff doesn't count.

I have asked my ex if he has info on our cruises, ships, itineraries etc pre 2014 as I have some info from royal I could put in but I think I would need photos to try to work out ports and dates to add manually 😞
