We never get the internet package when we sail, because we enjoy being disconnected from life and enjoying the moment.  However, we just booked a cruise with our friends and I discovered that the check-in for that cruise is while we are on our Spring Break cruise (I never thought we would ever have two sailings so close together...).

Since you can use Royal's app while onboard without an internet package, and when on land you can use the app to check-in, would I be able to check-in on the app without an internet package?  If not can you purchase internet access for a day or just a few hours, instead of a package for the whole trip?

Thanks!

Typically Voom, even paid plans, have issues checking in and performing certain functions such as retrieving luggage tags while on board a ship.

The issue appears to be DNS related which can be overcome through the use of VPN but that wouldn't be available for non-paid WiFi connecticitions accessing any free websites including royalcaribbean.com.

If you have close together cruises you should have already checked in for both a long time before the cruises.

No, but...

You can't check in for a future cruise using the app while connected to ship wifi, regardless if you have a package or not.

BUT you can access the RC website on ship wifi without having an internet package, and check in through the website.

That is great to know! Thank you!

Thanks! They are close together, but unfortunately far enough apart that I won't be able to check in for both first.  The second cruise check in starts on Day 2 of the first cruise.
