rjac
Will be on the Allure of the Seas April 1st with my daughter, son in law and the two grandkids (ages 12 &8). They will be in connecting rooms with the parents in one room and the kids in the connecting room. I know the balcony has an integrated lock system and it takes some strength to open the sliding door. I am wondering if there is a lock we can buy that they can put on the sliding door to keep the kids "honest" and dissuade them from getting adventurous. Thanks! WAAAYTOOO
You will have to get the room attendant to open the partition for you. It’s a big NO-NO to do it yourself (if you even could). Different ships have different rules about such things and I cannot recall what Allure’s rule is....but just ask your room attendant. They will do it for you if they can. twangster
At adult eye level there is typically a lock. I guess a kid could slide a chair over and reach it but it isn't easy to operate. Some ships are darn near adult proof. 12 yo might be able to reach it. Can't remember Allure. Lovetocruise2002
I can't remember Allure either but I do recall some locks being way up at the very top of the glass. Depending on the height of the 12yr old it may not even be within reach...

Caught up in the holiday season, New Year's Eve coming, searching for cruise deals, discussions/rumors about totally obscene dink package deals, etc. Happy New Year!
