ScottD Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Just going off a reddit post, so figured I'd check here. Are they holding off on Labadee again? The post mentions they've all been canceled by Celebrity and Royal has canceled at least the next week or two. I haven't seen this anywhere else yet, so thought I'd see if anyone sailing there in the next few weeks has gotten any notification of this? Quote
TXcruzer Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Have not heard this at all. Oasis was at Labadee yesterday, Explorer scheduled for tomorrow. JustMeJoe 1 Quote
smokeybandit Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 I saw a couple itinerary changes for late year cruises but those seemed to be one offs Quote
Gilley Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 I’m scheduled for Labadee in April. Received no changes from RCL. Only change received is we are skipping Puerto Rico and St. Maarten. We are going to Puerto Plata and St. Thomas instead. I’m looking forward to Labadee. I haven’t been there since 1998. JustMeJoe and ScottD 1 1 Quote
Last2Know Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 48 minutes ago, Gilley said: I’m looking forward to Labadee. I'm the opposite. Labadee does not appeal to me or the family. It lacks the amenities that are offered at Coco Cay and the ones planned in Nassau at the Royal Beach Club, Perfect Day Mexico at Costa Maya, and the Royal Beach Club at Cozumel. In my opinion, the biggest drawback for is Labadee's lack of a dedicated adult area, pools, and WIFI. WAYNO 1 Quote

WAAAYTOOO Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 On Explorer now, on our way to Labadee. No reason to think we won’t be calling there tomorrow. JimnKathy, teddy, ScottD and 3 others 4 2 Quote
USFFrank Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Scheduled to go there next month. With all do respect, I wouldn't lose any sleep, or cry over an additional sea day, or a different port stop, as long as it isn't Nassau or Coco Cay, and it doesn't change the other 3 stops on the itinerary. ScottD Posted March 22 Author Report Posted March 22 I went back to the reddit thread and reported that no one else seems to know about these cancellations, and he doubled down on the fact that the phone reps told him this. SO when I went back today with a screenshot from Cruisemapper of @WAAAYTOOO and explorer docked there, he had deleted the thread. Glad to see they are still stopping there, I do some TA stuff on the side and booked my cousin on a cruise heading there in August and it's probably the port they want to see most of the three! Or you can just choose the "if you're a travel agent, press" option and it moves you to the front of the queue - once connected, the rep doesn't know how you got to the front of the line. I was just wondering what sort of contractual obligations they might have with Haiti that might keep them from permanently pulling anchor and never returning. With Coco Cay in operation for quite some time and the upcoming Nassau Beach Club and PD Mexico in the works, is it going to be worth the ongoing troubles anymore? Quote
Bostie Mom Posted April 16 Report Posted April 16 We are scheduled to be in Labadee next Friday, the 25th. Our itinerary hasn't changed yet. A few others are supposed to stop there before us so I'm watching theirs to see if it changes. So far nothing for us though. I'm on the Symphony sailing. Quote

WAAAYTOOO Posted April 16 Report Posted April 16 Dan and I were watching a documentary recently on the evolution of Royal Caribbean International and I was surprised to learn that Labadee was an inheritance from Admiralty Cruise Lines BEFORE Royal acquired Coco Cay. So Labadee is an "older" private destination than [what is now] Coco Cay ! JimnKathy, Thumper44, teddy and 2 others 3 1 1 Quote
