ANTHEM GROUP CRUISE

Recommended Posts

Dang it! This could have been a perfect opportunity to join you guys, but we'll have been to literally every port on this itinerary less than a year prior. My wife is contemplating doing another cruise for 2019 as a belated 50th birthday trip for her, since family circumstances kept her from really being able to do much at all this year, but she was very clear up front that if it's her trip choice, she'd only do it if we could see all new ports. And after doing two cruises in 2018, I'll only be able to afford one cruise for 2019. :37_disappointed:

July 4, 2019

Sailing from Cape Liberty, New Jersey and visiting Bermuda, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, and Labadee.:27_sunglasses:

I freaking love that itinerary, and we've been dying to try Anthem!

2018 will be a very light cruise year for us to recoup from the wedding/basically a overall really bad 2017 besides the wedding and Allure, but 2019 excited to pick it back up and this will be a GREAT one to look forward to!

I finally got to talk to Stephanie with MEI, so helpful, and finally I am booked on a Royal Caribbean Blog cruise. I am so excited. I get to meet the ALL KNOWING and ALL POWERFUL, MATT. I am going out to look for an autograph book tomorrow just so I will have his autograph.

WAAAYTOOO you had better sign up for this cruise so that we can finally meet and spend all our time in the casino.

Lol! Hmm...then there's the two kids....maybe I should leave them all at home ?

I don't see where there would be a problem. There are fast food restaurants, pizza places as well as take out restaurants in Canada, right?:10_wink:

Why not?  Hubby will be home and can take care of them... :10_wink:

Lol...only one giant problem...hubby funds the cruise vacations ?

Teachers don't make a whole lot and "Hi, my name is Sabrina and I'm a shopaholic." ?

I might need to reconsider and cancel my booking. ;)

Seriously, I'd consider booking now as the price will likely go up between now and February.

Now really isn't an option - sort of waiting on my husband's job situation to be worked out before we put the money out there, so we're just holding off until we're on board and take advantage of the perks there.

Does booking through MEI get me a lower group cruise rate?  Or are the incentives simply the special events and activities etc.?

Booking through MEI sometimes nets a better cost, but not always.  Booking through MEI is more about these things:

  1. You're support RoyalCaribbeanBlog sponsor, which directly supports the blog. The more people that book into the group with MEI, the more "power" we have with RC to do fun and special events onboard.
  2. There will be certain events open only to those that book into the group.
  3. There are special rewards/surprises for those that book into the group that are delivered to their stateroom.

The deposit is also lower. My deposit for each room was $500, when it ordinarily would have been $750 and $1250.

priced the above cruise on RC UK Site, $1915.29  for inside stateroom, compared to $1285.15 on blog.  It's ridiculous the difference in price we have to pay :(

MEI Travel can book you on the group cruise even if you're a UK resident.  They got special permission for group cruises.
