Solo passenger here from Eastern Washington (not my first time) and wanted to introduce myself!
im Dona and the itinerary sounds great! I love the autumn and never seen the northeast before. My ancestors arrived in Nova Scotia from England and I want to embrace the area where we settled.
I hope to learn more about the history of the beginning of America so looking forward to Boston! I also want to go to Cheers!

I'm doing this cruise solo, it's a local port for me and I just wanted to get away.

I’m going to Boston 4 days earlier. Can you tell me what the port is like (is it confusing with no direction) and do you know the Dorchester neighborhood. Places I should definitely go to for dinner/lunch?
TIA

@Donalane I'm sorry I can't comment on Dorchester, I haven't spent time in Boston since the 70s. I don't like cities. I cruised out of there a couple years ago and didn't find it very difficult getting to the port. I just used maps on my iPhone. This time I'm taking a bus from southern NH that will drop me at the South Station rail station. This is about 1.5 miles from the port. Depending on the weather I will either walk or take a taxi from there.

Checking in from Tyler, Texas. I am traveling on the Brilliance of the Seas Oct 12-19, with 68 of my closet friends.  Actually, it a large group of Senior Adults from a Baptist Church in Tyler, TX. Looking forward to the ports, dining on board, and the shows. Most of us are 70+, so you'll probably not see us at the swimming pool, bars, or casino. (OK, maybe at th bars, having virgin cocktails.) But we'll be having fun at BINGO, Trivia Pursit, and cards/dominoes.  See y'all soon!

For the yanks coming from the US, Monday, October 13, 2025, is THANKSGIVING DAY in Canada.  Most retail store and restaurants will be CLOSED, including the Saint John City Market.  This is the first port, day 2, of this cruise.

I contacted the Steamers Lobster Company, located next to the cruiseport, and they affirmed they will be open during lunchtime on that day.
