Ok, I don't want to start my blog too early so thought I would throw this here.  I am going to be in my first Suite ever on Harmony on Feb 9th.  Today, I just received an email that I won my RUB and will now be in a SLS.  I know I have read that some of the Star Class benefits have gotten worse, but looking for any good information on what a first time Star Class experience will be like and what to expect.

Posted

Congrats on the win.

Paging @Snotarni...I believe he will be on this sailing as well and sharing in the first time Star Class experience!

If you pre-paid your gratuities make sure you follow up on board about getting OBC for that.  If you pre-purchased any drink or dining packages, feel free to cancel them now.  If you don't, just follow up with your Genie about getting OBC for that as well.

If you want to do Izumi Hibachi or Chef's Table and there's a particular time available in the Cruise Planner you want, go and lock in that reservation now. They will refund you onboard.  You can usually wait and they'll be able to get you a hibachi reservation if you aren't picky about a time, but Chef's Table can be limited.

Take advantage of the laundry situation and pack less! Go home with clean, folded clothes as well.

What?! CONGRATS!!!!!!!! How awesome! Did you win 1724 or 1722? Either way, it's going to be awesome!

1722....which is odd as I have been watching and the only one that was available to book was 1724.  So hope it wasn't an email in error 🤣.  Which would you say is better?

The question now becomes do you spend more time in that awesome cabin or on the wave? LOL

Will still spend some time on that wave for sure!!!  The wife however, might just hang in the Spa and Room all week.  And the casino to hopefully win another cruise that I can get this lucky on.

Depends…I like 1722 for the privacy. Some like 1724 so they can watch the wave and people in general. 1724 has the bigger lower level and not much space upstairs. 1722 has a slightly smaller lower level and more space upstairs. I am so excited for you guys! And no freeloaders on this one? Even better!

Does anyone know if you win a RUB if your luggage tags will update with the new room number?  Currently they are still showing the other room.  And I know I have read that you don't give your bags to a regular porter, but you are supposed to find a Star Class Porter.  We are sailing out of Galveston, is there a designated Star Class entrance and those porters are by there?

My one and only RUB win was from an interior to a promenade view interior, lol, but our luggage tags did change along with our set sail passes and documents.

When won both RUB our luggage tags did update. And yes, as @WAAAYTOOO has long said, do not give your bags to a regular porter. Well, you could, but then they won't be expedited. Going to tag @Jax because I know she has sailed twice from Galveston.

Yes, don't drop your bags with the others. The Star Class spot is marked and IIRC near the end of when everyone else has dropped their luggage before you start to leave the terminal area. There will be dedicated staff there who will ask for your room number and then help get your luggage to the correct porter to take. They will also have luggage tags (paper) for you.

Congrats; that is awesome!! We found the whole arrival process in Galveston very easy. You will see the purple star class banner towards the end of the drop off area.  Do NOT give your bags to the porters that will no doubt ask you for them. I always tell them I am star class and that seems to work.  Go to the purple banner and a star class porter should be there and they have a list of all star class guests.  They will retag all your bags before you head into the terminal with the terminal agent.

Awesome!!!  @LandstromCruise!!!  We are Star Class on that sailing as well...  We're in an AT2 (10330) and we're pretty excited to experience this level for the first time.  We'll have 6 (total) in with us and are looking forward to at least some semblance of a Super Bowl party in our suite the first night out!!  Looking forward to meeting you and sharing stuff we learn!

MJ brunch

If you remember the MJ server from Wonder (currently on Utopia) I've mentioned multiple times and want to ask for her or at least say hi from Mike & Cori, her name is Jocelle and she's from the Philippines. @Lovetocruise2002 knows who she is as well. She's super sweet and a great server. No obligation of course. Just throwing it out there.

I will for sure ask for her, and if don’t get her as a server at least try to see if she’s there and say hello

A family in my large group will be in that Star loft the sailing prior. We have all six 2 bedroom Aquas, a star loft and two 2 bedroom grand suites in group.
I will reply again to this thread If any of us experience anything we deem worthy of passing along relating to Star class or the Star loft.

So, chances of me winning a royal up from my grand suite is low on the Feb 2 sailing. One day I will do a Star Class sailing! Enjoy the sailing, I know I will!

I guess the saying it never hurts to ask is really true. I called to ask what it would cost to add 2 people to the room expecting it would be some ridiculous cost. Turns out it was only $1K/person to add. Might be a little tight having 4 adults in the room, but getting to experience this with our traveling buddies will be even that much better!!

Got room for one more? I'll sleep on the suite deck and provide genie-esque service in return. 😁

Joking aside, that's great, congrats!
