Hi, I'm Christa, and I'm slow to register for the message boards, but I try to pop into the Periscopes and Facebook Lives when I can. I do a lot of replay watching. I've done 2 RCCL cruises with a third coming up in May - Oasis, Independence, Oasis.  I was supposed to be on a 12 day Anthem in April, but due to some job changes we had to change our reservation. I've also done 2 Disney cruises and 1 Carnival cruise (way back in the day).

I live on the south side of Atlanta, and for a time Matt lived here, too, but I didn't know that!  Missed opportunity to have coffee and guac (not at the same time!) with the king of cruising!

I'm hoping to cruise a bit more over the coming years, and maybe one of my cruising times will coincide with a group cruise!

Hello, I am Chris and I am an al.......... Oh wait wrong forum.

I reside in Austin Texas, love love love love love craft beers, wait did i say I love craft beers yet?  Total hop head, the more IPA's i can try the better life is.  Very much a foodie where i love to cook and try things and as such I love when you see unique and interesting approaches to dishes on the ships.  I am not someone that judges others for what they like or dislike when it comes to food / drinks but thats why variety is fun.

Got hooked on cruising back in the late 90s with the Sovereign of the seas, each past girlfriend and my now wife has to put up with my love of being on the seas.  If i do not spend at least 4 hours a day perusing RCL BLOG (thanks matt) or other cruise sites, such as my cruise planner its just not a good day.

I work in the fascinating world of selling data management, Analytics, business intelligence and Machine learning software.

Enjoy everything these boards have to offer and I enjoy sharing my experiences when possible.

Hello

We are the Rafalski Family from South Florida.  Our next cruise will be in 12 days on the Navi for 9 glorious nights!!!!  The kids don't know we upgraded to a junior suite.  It's not a Grand Suite but maybe one day.  Question, we will reach Diamond status five days into this cruise, will they give us access to the Diamond lounge?

In a word, no.  It takes about 2 weeks to get it posted.  We've crossed a couple times and nothing.  I think Carnival will upgrade you if you cross during a cruise, not sure why Royal won't...

Welcome! The answer is no, you will have to wait for your next cruise to take advantage of your Diamond status.

Matt

U were just on the Navi for nine nights?

Loved it! One of the best cruises I have ever taken, second only to my honeymoon cruise.  You can read my live blog here: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/category/category/navigator-of-the-seas-live-blog

Welcome Pete! That's quite a commute you have between WA and Australia!

Hi everyone! I'm brand new to cruising, and I'm pretty sure I've read every single article on this page. I'm maybe a little over prepared but I can't wait to get on Oasis in 18 days! Thanks Matt for creating such a terrific community!

Welcome Haley! Did you even read my Seafood Shack restaurant review from 2010? That's the true test if you made it all the way around  ;)

Guess it's time to introduce myself. My name is Timothy and my wife is Beth. We went on our first cruise on Majesty of the Seas in October for my dad's 70th birthday. We have two cruises upcoming for next year. The first is for our 5th anniversary and 2nd is just to do a Transatlantic. A little about us, we live in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (a suburb of Tulsa). I'm a critical care nurse and paramedic, hence the medic part of my name. My wife is in education. Looking forward to more cruises and climbing up the Crown and Anchor Society ladder, should be Platinum after our Transatlantic. As others have mention I'm Royal to the core, but will probably try Celebrity at some point in the future.

Ahoy!!

I used to be Loyal to Royal but not anymore.

I started cruising way back in 1985 when things were quite different. After 28 cruises I feel I'm still looking for tips and tricks to make my trip more enjoyable. I stumbled on this site today and hope to be able to contribute as well as learn from others.

Can I ask what soured you on them? Or is it just that you've opened up to new lines that work better for your current expectations or needs, and still cruise on Royal when it's the right line / itinerary?

Hi everyone!

My name is Kerstin, 33 years and I'm from Germany. My husband and me will start cruising with Royal on Symphony OTS Transatlantic Cruise next year. This will be our first Royal cruise and also our first one with a non-german cruise line - and the first out of Europe. We've already got 3 cruises with TUI Cruises under our belt (Canaries, Full Metal Cruise, Baltic) and will cruise Western Mediterranean with AIDA this year.

We've always wanted to try an Oasis class ship but I wasn't up to such a long distance flight. Guess I won't have a choice when it's time to go back home ;) To make up for the dreaded flight we're also planning to spend 2 weeks in the Caribbean, but haven't decided on an itinerary yet - 14 nights with Regent's Navigator seems most likely at the moment.

Guess I'll have a lot questions although numerous are already answered thanks to you guys =)

G'day.

I'm from Brisbane  (Australia)

I used to work on board in the Casino for RCI and Celebrity in the 90's-00's.

I started back cruising in 09. It's just like going home. I love it!!!

I have a YouTube channel and FB page= Ocean Time. Australia has really gotten on board with cruising so I'm so happy and excited to help all my fellow cruises with information, experience and fun.

This website is So Outstanding and addictive and I've met(online) so many fantastic people!!!!

Indy Glenn here......

Just found this web site........have been a long time Cruise Critic user...

Angie & I started cruising in 1991 to get away from people, TV, phones, etc - ha - hard to do now!!   LOL   I was a military recruiter back then but now retired.

We are D+ but have been on a cruise hiatus since 2013 as we bought a motor home and have been creating our own land cruises.

We are about to change that as we again board the Oasis this coming October for the second time. First time was B2Bs in 2010.

We live in the Heartland of America, Brownsburg, IN, not far from the Indianapolis Speedway and Lucas Raceway park.....

Looking forward to using this forum.

Hello everyone, my name is John and my wife's name is Jaye, we have been Royal fans since 2000, tried NCL before that and thought I wanted something better, stepped away once because I wanted to do the Panama Canal and Royal didn't do one (Did Disney once because my daughter paid for it) . I stopped cruising between 2006 and 2012 while I got the kids out of college and married away.  I live close to Tulsa, OK, I can't say land locked because theoretically there is a way to get from Tulsa to the Mississippi river and then to the Gulf. I have been reading and using Royal Caribbean Blog since I started cruising again in 2012, I just never used the forums, like the poster above I had been using Cruise Critic. I joined yesterday and have been trying to add details to anything that I might know a little about. I'm a Diamond member working my way to Diamond+. I'm able to get in one cruise a year with the limited amount of time off my wife gets, she works in Education.

Look forward to using this forum.

Welcome, I'm just right down the road in Broken Arrow and my wife also works in education so I know how it is. Our vacations are scheduled around spring break, summer break, fall break, and Christmas.

Thanks, CowboyMedic and WAAAYTOOO, it's very hard to get my Wife to miss school, but it helps every once in awhile when we can get an extra day here or there, to bet the rush of everyone else trying to go on vacation at the same time. I have 4 Grandson's, 3 of which play sports and they don't understand when Grandpa is not there, so that makes scheduling a cruise even more challenging.

Hi everyone!

My name is Katie. I live near Allentown (about an hour north of Philadelphia), Pennsylvania.

My mom and I will be cruising for the very first time August 20th on Liberty of the Seas! We'll be celebrating her retirement after 35 years of teaching of Spanish and other culture and language classes! As usual, I've been doing most of the planning for our trip and periodically forwarding Mom relevant royalcaribbbeanblog.com posts. :14_relaxed:  I decided early on in our planning that, as part of the celebration, we should look at cruises that would take us to Spanish speaking countries; Liberty of the Seas is scheduled to stop in Honduras and Mexico. We'll be cruising while Mom's soon-to-be former colleagues and students are beginning the school year. This is the first year Mom can travel in late August and we are taking advantage of it, lol.

Hopefully this will be the first of many cruises for us. But I have to be realistic. Since it is a celebration, it may be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Mom and me. I want to savor the whole experience. One of my relatives told me recently that there will be so many activities that we probably won't get to do everything onboard. She was right. Over the next 99 days and even on the cruise itself, we will be choosing certain activities to suit us. I wouldn't want to do it all. I can't wait to find out what we'll get to do, though!
