Hi! I'm Tannie. My husband Jeff and I did our inaugural cruise around Hawaii for our honeymoon in 1990 aboard the now retired SS Constitution.

We have been avid Vegas travellers for 25 years but then I won a cruise (air included) on the Jewel of the Seas, in a balcony cabin, and I was hooked. We are spending Halloween (this year) on the Freedom of the Seas and are booked for an Alaskan cruise with Princess in 2017.

We live on the West Coast of Canada and between the airfare and exchange rate, we can not do more than one cruise a year, but would love to.

We'll be on her too... Bring your costumes...

Hi y'all!

My name is Sven, from the Netherlands.

I've been lurking around this blog en forums for quite some time now and finally decided to join.

Ever since my first (Alaskan) cruise on the Serenade back in 2004 I've been kind off obsessed with RC cruise ships.

Next year I'm likely going on my second cruise, which (even though I haven't booked) I'm already very excited for.

Hallo, Sven!

While different regions see different promotions, starting very soon we can expect to start seeing some incentives relating to the holidays.  It  remains to be seen what they are, but as you've been lurking you probably know it's best to book early, so booking soon, combined with upcoming sales could work out nicely for you.

Hi everyone!

I live with my wife near Utica, NY. I've been cruising since I was a kid when my mom was a travel agent.

I've been watching the RC Periscopers for a while now and plan to broadcast a bit on Anthem next month. I just recently discovered the blog, podcasts, and Matt's daily scopes. I was so impressed by all of this I got in on the Insider program.

Hello everyone!

Greetings from Dallas, TX! My wife and I are brand new to the world of cruising and we're definitely excited for our first cruise. We have two cruises planned this year. Our very first one in April and we're boarding Liberty of the Seas and heading to a bigger ship in December when we go on the Oasis. We're huge fans of the podcast, and listening to it makes me feel like I'm already a cruise expert. I am too excited to try Sabor and drink a Labadoozee (sp?) because of all the positive things I hear about them. Can't wait to hear some tips from you seasoned cruisers and I'm looking forward to possibly cruise with a few of you someday.

Welcome Pamela, I can help you with the cruise history.  At the top of the page click the little arrow next to your Pamela27 and select My Profile.  Then in the top right corner of the page click on the Edit my Profile. Then on the left side of the page click Signature.  Scroll down to the bottom and you will see a box you can type in.  Once finished click on Save Changes and you're done.

To comment, just scroll to the bottom of the page you are viewing and start typing or if you want to quote someone click the Quote button in the bottom right of their post.

I am jealous of another Diamond member, I'm Emerald and only about 15 days away.  If I can talk my wife into some more cruises....

Hi I'm Michael. Taking my first RCCL cruise with my son Daniel on March 12 on Liberty. He'll turn 13 the day we're in Cozumel.

Would love to hear from anyone else on this cruise.

A little about me. I'm a surgical nurse. IN my spare time I like to play ice hockey. Looking forward to trying out the ice on board, bring my personal blades for it.

Daniel is a musician in addition to being a student. We're planning to do some scuba diving on the trip.

Hope to hear from some people .

Welcome, since you play hockey you will probably be disappointed by the ice on the ship.  Its not very big and there is no Zamboni to clean it.  Not sure how they do it.  I used to skate back in the day, played hockey when I was 13, personally, I wouldn't carry my skates.  Save the room and the weight.  But if you really want to by all means bring them.

Cozumel is a good place, they don't hound you like Jamaica.  There are good excursions and plenty of places doing scuba.  Just make sure you get a boat trip, we did one off the beach and it was all rocks.

Hope Daniel has a good birthday.

Thank you. Yeah, I could tell from the pics the ice wasn't that big and not expecting as good as I normally have. But I can at least get out and scratch up a bit. I'll probably still bring my own blades. Having had my own skates for about 30+ years, the thought of rental skates makes me cry... LOL

We've got our excursions all booked. Boat dives in Cozumel and Grand Cayman and a catamaran trip in Jamaica.

Hi! My name is Joe. I live in northern NJ, been there my whole life (apart from the four years I spent in Maine while in college). My family and I will be taking our first cruise ever(!!) on March 31, 2018, on Freedom for an 8-night Eastern Caribbean cruise. That year has some big milestones for us: My wife and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, our older daughter (the musician) will be about to graduate high school, while our younger one (the artist) will be about to graduate middle school.

As far my background, I've spent the last 21 years as a computer programmer / software architect, focusing on web applications. Just thinking about how long I've been at this makes me feel really old.  ;)

Before that, I spent a couple of years out of college working for Hoffmann LaRoche, when I thought biology research was totally what I wanted to do. Funny how life can take you in directions you never really expected!

On my Joe .... I totally understand what you're saying how the best laid plans for life don't always go according to plan..... My Degree is in Urban Planning, yet, I've been in advertising and marketing for the last 20+ years .....

Hey if it pays the bills and can afford me to cruise .... I'm all good.

Hi everyone!

Just recently discovered the wonderful community here with Matt, the podcasts, the Periscopes, the forums... Love this! Really excited to be here.

I'm John, originally from Northern NJ but living in Austin, TX for the last 2 years and change. Had been on a number of cruises when I was younger, then after a gap of about 15 years went on Freedom of the Seas back in August 2016 and have been bitten by the bug once again. I'm very excited to be going on 3 cruises in 2017!

Majesty on Feb 6th

Anthem in June (little birthday "to me from me" present!)

Oasis on August 20th with the big family group

I've also started my blog and YouTube channel back up and will be posting pictures/videos from my cruises for sure! Please feel free to have a look and subscribe! I can't wait to get to know more of you and hopefully get on one of the group cruises!

John

Hi everyone! My husband & I started cruising in 2002 but we fell in love with cruising in Sept 2003 on the Vancouver cruise terminal dock waiting to board the Radiance of the Seas! We are from the metro Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA area but originally from the western suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana. After we retired, we were able to take longer cruises and to our surprise, we thoroughly enjoy Transatlantic cruising.

When we are not cruising, I keep a watchful eye on the webcams out of Galveston, Port Everglades, Miami and now Tampa since our next cruise will start from that location.

My hubby has posted on these discussion boards for a few months now and at his urging, I just recently signed on. I hope to learn some things from y'all as well as sharing my cruising knowledge and experience with you all.

I really enjoyed sailing out of Tampa - we spent a couple days in the city before our cruise last year, and fell in love with the area.  Enjoyed it so thoroughly that we booked the same itinerary (but different ship) for April of this year, with a few days prior and post cruise in the area.

I have a small review here if you are interested.  http://blog.billcarney.com/our-cruise-review-from-vision-of-the-seas-april-2-9-2016-sailing-from-tampa-to-the-western-caribbean/  We're sailing on Rhapsody this time, which replaced Vision in Tampa.

Hello all! I'm Bill, from Tampa. Still relatively new to cruising myself with just one on Vision of the Seas back in November 2015, and looking forward to Allure of the Seas later this year. While I haven't sailed much myself, I am quite familiar with the travel industry in general, and very much so Central Florida theme parks and related destinations.

Have twice been a travel agent in my career, including as a cruise specialist (although I never sailed when I worked for the company - think big online site - I was one of the top sales performers on my team). Now I work full time in retail, and as a private tour guide at theme parks on the side.

As a huge planner, I love this site and have also been learning a lot from the message boards too. Always nice to connect with others and continue learning and planning - for me, it's part of the fun of a big vacation.

Greetings All!

New member and first time (hopefully) cruiser.  I am sure I will have questions down the road but for now just a brief intro.  This will be my first cruise.  Right now the plan is for 6 of us (Me, wife, adult son with wife, adult daughter with boy friend) to sail on Liberty of the Seas January 7-14 2018 to Cozumel, Grand Caymans, Jamaica.  Hope to get a balcony room for wife and I and promenades for the rest.

Originally, I had planned on booking all this as soon as I had the deposit (Late May) but with the BOGO sale on I went ahead and applied (and got approved) for the RCL card.  Alas, it says it wont arrive for 7-10 business days which means it should show up a few days AFTER the sale ends but I am keeping my fingers crossed it gets here early.

In any event, I have already gotten a lot of good info from this site, so thanks!!

Chris

Welcome. I think you'll enjoy the Liberty and I loved sailing from Galveston.

Royal had perpetual sales that rarely end up changing the fare, so I wouldn't worry much about missing this one.

Hi. I'm Bob. And I'm a Cruise-a-holic.  Is there a 12 step program for that?

I am originally from Illinois but after 20 years in the US Navy I retired in Scotland with my Scottish bride.  I love to cruise and do as much as I can.  The main barrier being the transportation costs to get to our favorite location for sailing, The Caribbean.

I've been on this blog for a couple years and have posted and contributed many times.  I have recently done a review of the Vision of the Seas cruise of the Arabian Sea.  Hope you enjoy.

Looking forward to a long relationship with Royal Caribbean blog.com
