12thman
We have a transatlantic cruise in October 2025 on Odyssey. Anyone who has sailed in the aft end please let me know how much movement was there? I know my experience will be different but I'm interested in knowing what other people have experienced. Thank you in advance.
twangster
No different than any stretch of open water. What will influence motion on a ship is swell originating often thousands of miles away. If there are no distant storms there will be minimal motion. If there is some distant storm there might be swell and therefore motion. This stuff never bothers me anywhere on the ship. I tend to sleep better with some motion. However it all depends on the direction the swell is coming from relative to the ship heading. Captain Rob did a good job explaining swell and what influences ship movement in this video: PPPJJ-GCVAB

Villageidiot
Had a balcony cabin on deck 7 on Odyssey earlier this year. Southern Caribbean cruise and we felt very little movement. Transatlantic on Explorer in an aft cabin last year (Miami to Rome) no apparent movement. 12thman and WAAAYTOOO 1
