GregK Posted August 20, 2024 Report Posted August 20, 2024 Left Seward on a beautiful day, couldn't have asked for a better day in Juneau. Warmest day with sunshine that they have had in weeks. Skagway, always a favorite, did not disappoint. Started off looking like the sun would shine, but clouds moved in and out throughout the day threatening rain in the late afternoon but holding off. Our second stop of the day in Haines was canceled due to high winds. It never surprises me the number of people commenting and storming off to guest services thinking they "will" get something for free! Obviously, they have not read their cruise contract, and obviously they think Royal Caribbean can control the weather. In Mexico there is Costa Maybe (Maya) where it is often missed because of winds. We heard from ship staff that missing Haines is common for the same reason, so me and my wife termed it Hopeful Haines. Looking forward to more adventures tomorrow in Icy Strait Point.
