OMG, @Jax.  This IS a nightmare.  So sorry to hear it but unfortunately, it's not even an unusual story these days.  The airlines are most definitely FUBAR.  We are so very blessed that we do not have to fly anymore.  I don't think you could get me on an airplane for FREE.  It's just not worth the stress and hassle.

It is sad. I don't even know for certain at this point what future sailings she will be joining us on. But she turns 18 this month and we left her as a D+ on her own (without our points) so I don't feel that bad lol

@Jax that whole ordeal is insane. It is a big reason why because I have to fly I stack things. The sad thing is you can no longer say a specific airline is better.

They should be thanking you profoundly. 

 

After his last two cruises Owen will have 319 actual points from nights at sea. I wish I had that many at 17. I’ve come to love cruising, and at 17 I’m glad that he knows how lucky he is.

They should! I was just thinking when I responded to you earlier that if I had the points we are leaving them with at 18, I would be Pin by now lol

Was one of his departure gates the one that started pouring rain inside? I saw that online and was just grateful we weren't flying yesterday. Hope the hail didn't hurt your home/property/vehicles too much. We're in Cochrane and there was damage all around us, but nothing here!

 No, he avoided that mess but it definitely contributed to all the gate change chaos for sure.  By some miracle we avoided the hail yesterday also, although we got some large hail Saturday (thankfully vehicles were in the garage) It was a wild weekend for weather that’s for sure.  Glad the hail missed you.

Just as a follow up, Reflection is still using the old internet speed limits that Oasis and Quantum class used to have before the Starlink upgrade.

4 mbps down and 2 mbps up.

While Royal has typically raised it speed limits on Voom to 10 mbps down and 4 mbps up on the mega ships, Reflection is still using the old 4 mbps and 2 mbps speeds despite migrating the ship to Starlink.

Ah, no wonder we were having so much trouble FaceTiming the freeloaders! Thanks for coming back with that info. I would not even know how to interpret those speeds if I tested it.

You can, depending on the TV. Problem is that you won't really know until you get into the room. There are some rooms that we have been in where the HDMI ports in the TV are not accessible, but some rooms (like the one on Adventure) it is fully accessible. The remote did allow us to switch the input, and yes, we just plugged Hubby's laptop into an HDMI port. I remember that we also did this on Symphony, and probably a few other ships, but I cannot remember which ones.
