TheMoonRabbit27 Posted July 8, 2024 Report Posted July 8, 2024 Hello everyone! I'm going on the Independence of the Seas in August. This will be my first cruise and I am super excited. I've been going back and forth on what excursions to do in Cozumel, and I could use some advice. What are the recommended excursions for newbie like myself? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated? Sea Squirrel Posted July 8, 2024 Report Posted July 8, 2024 Hi Rabbit, What types of type of activities are you most interested? Do you prefer beach days, snorkeling, shopping, history, etc. Quote
Scott M Posted July 8, 2024 Report Posted July 8, 2024 If you're interested in a pool/beach day, I'd highly recommend Paradise Beach. It is not booked through Royal, just make a reservation on their website. You can easily take a taxi there and back, was $20 each way last week. Food was good, service very fast. We did the add on for the blow up "obstacle" course for our teenagers and was a good time. Traffic and line at the port was crazy in the afternoon. We got to Paradise shortly after 8 so we could leave at one and get ahead of most of the crowd, but we felt we still got a good day in. OCSC Mike 1 Quote

Going there next week and looking forward to it. Some additional info in this thread (which also discusses Nachi Cocom, another popular beach club). Quote

Ryan79 Posted July 8, 2024 Report Posted July 8, 2024 My personal favorite is the underground river cenote excursion. It was amazing and not something you can do in the vast majority of other places in the world. Beaches are everywhere. ChessE4 1 Quote
ChessE4 Posted July 8, 2024 Report Posted July 8, 2024 You need to decide if you want adventure, which requires ferry to mainland as part of the excursion, or a relaxing beach day. You can find beaches anywhere, so I vote for the more exotic. OCSC Mike 1 Quote

I admit I'm going back and forth between the Legacy of the Maya tour, or the Open Top Bus tour with the beach break. I'm also open to a little adventure, so I'm also considering the SeaTrek underwater tour. Quote
