FManke
I know this may be an insane question, considering it does involve a cruise and all, but does anybody know where I can find nutritional info of onboard dishes? I found out in March, about a month after I booked our first cruise ever, of course that I have type 2 diabetes. I've been doing very well since then, dropped over 50lbs and lowered my A1C by 5pts. I've done this by counting calories, recording everything I put in my mouth using myfitnesspal.com and watching what I eat. I know I will eat things I don't normally now, and I'm ok with that, but I can't for health sake, totally blow it. I just have to account for it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

As dining should be, moderation in everything. You don't need to order extra appetizers, two entreés just because they are available at no charge in the MDR. RCL offers sugar free desserts and they are plainly labeled on the menus and at the buffets. If you feel you have over indulged, they head upstairs to the walking track and hit it for fifteen twenty laps. Bon Voyage and Bon Appétit!! DocLC
You won't find nutritional information posted anywhere onboard. However, there will always be sugar free or no sugar added options available in the buffet and on the MDR menus. In addition, if you ask to speak to the chef in the buffet or speak to the head waiter in the MDR, they'll be able to tell you about the ingredients in each and every dish. You'll also find a number of "spa" or healthy dining options and can always ask for the protein dishes (e.g., steak, fish, or chicken) to be served without the sauce, which will make it a much healthier option. Probably the same reason you won't find a clock in a casino! Thanks again, @DocLC DocLC and RestingBird

Thanks again, @DocLC It could also be that preparation changes from cruise to cruise. I did a back to back once and really enjoyed a dish on the first sailing so I went and ordered it again on the second sailing. It was nothing like what I had the first time. Thanks again, @DocLC FManke, I don't think you have anything to worry about about. As an underwriter, most type 2 is from overweight and lack of exercise. You are licking it and you should be proud. As others have said, you know what to eat and portion control. Enjoy that ice cream if you want it (one scoop! LOL). Have a great time, relax and enjoy your trip! Matt
FWIW, Starbucks on Oasis class ships posts on their menu how many calories per drink. You might be able to also get nutritional info from the Johnny Rockets website about the food on their menu. Otherwise, I'm not aware of any posted nutritional info

I guess I'll just have to control myself! If not, I'll just get back track when I get back.
