Navigating Gasparilla on embarkation day

Does anyone have experience with getting to the Tampa cruise port on the Saturday of gasparilla pirate invasion?  For what it’s worth be boarding at pier six.  Staying at a hotel that advertises port shuttles

It’s really a non issue if you get down there early. I’ve parked in the terminal garages at 1030 with minimal to no traffic.
