Sky Class questions...

Recommended Posts

So excited! We just upgraded to a grand suite for our August HOTS cruise. We have never stayed in a grand suite before so I was hoping those of you out there who are familiar with sky class benefits could answer a few questions:

1. What exactly does priority disembarkation get you? Do you get to walk off the ship and bypass all lines on the last day?

2. What is Priority Dining reservations?

3. What seats do they reserve for you at shows? Front? Middle? And do they reserve a set number for all suite guests or as requested?

4. How do you make reservations to CK? It's not on my cruise planner. Do we have to wait till we get there?

Also, if anyone has other comments, tips or suggestions I would love to hear it. Thanks in advance :)

1. What exactly does priority disembarkation get you? Do you get to walk off the ship and bypass all lines on the last day? Special meeting place and departure access

2. What is Priority Dining reservations? Certain amount of seats held for Suite guest. Specialty restaurants, MTD, I would still make reservations, see Concierge below.

3. What seats do they reserve for you at shows? Front? Middle? And do they reserve a set number for all suite guests or as requested? Usually close to the stage, get their early or they will be made available to the general public.

4. How do you make reservations to CK? It's not on my cruise planner. Do we have to wait till we get there? See below, let your Concierge know.

All guests booked in a Sky suite will receive:

  1. 8 days after booking: a welcome email
  2. 7 days prior to sailing: an email reminder. Additionally, Sky guests will receive an introductory email from an onboard Concierge.

In the Suite Lounge during the day you can get soda, beer, wine, and water. During the evening cocktail hour they add to the mix the standard spirits (vodka, rum, tequila, gin, etc...) Keep in mind the bar in the Suite Lounge is unable to do frozen/blender drinks.

Seating: Entire rows were reserved, released about 5-10 minutes before the show started.

You don't need to make reservations for any show other than the Comedy show.

Main theater in May is was the front row in the upper level. From what I recall the seats were not all that great. There was a railing right at eye level.

Aqua Theater, not the very front. Maybe two or three rows from the back. I thought the seats were ideal.

Studio B (ice rink), First few row on the "narrow" side of the rink. Once again, these seat were ideal for viewing.

Comedy Club, no reserved seating for Sky class.

Departure:

In May they had three times to be escorted off. Meet in the Suite Lounge, optional breakfast in Coastal Kitchen. Once given the OK, we were escorted to the Bionic Bar. Once the entire group was there, we were escorted off and bypassed the lines to the luggage pickup area. One thing, you'll be using an escalator so keep that in mind. Once your luggage was claimed, dedicated lines for suite guests. However, I think they were sharing them with the Mobile Passport folks.

I have also purchased the deluxe beverage package but have heard that in sky class I might not need it.  What type of beverages are offered in the sky lounge?

Drinks in the Suite Lounge are somewhat limited. Small selection of beer and wine available from 1100-2300hrs. A smallish selection of mixed drinks available during happy hour from 1700-2000hrs.

No frozen drinks available at any time.

If sailing Sky class, I would have to buy the drink package.

Thanks so much for all the info!  Love that everyone on these boards are so helpful.  Going to throw two more questions out there that I thought of....

1. Is it true that with sky class you have a complimentary pass for the thermal suite? One day or all week?

2. With the new changes in the room service menu, can you still order anything from the MDR for in-room dining and is the $7.95 waived on all room service orders regardless of what menu they come from?

That is what I was leaning towards too...keep my deluxe pkg. Thanks :)

1.  Yes, I believe that Sky class includes a 1 day thermal suite pass.  The ceramic heated beds are very nice and the steam room is very nice.  My husband, however, hated the sauna on Harmony.  Instead of having a single (or just a couple) of sources of heat, it has many radiant heat sources across the walls.  The direct radiation was uncomfortable - too hot and intense.  The older saunas had a more disbursed system of heating.  Also, be aware that the thermal suites (at least on Harmony) are co-ed so you will be in mixed company.

2.  Yes, full suites receive room service at no charge. You will be able to order anything off the MDR menu and have it delivered to your suite during times when the MDR is operating.
