Casino Royal

WAAAYTOOO, just got back from our May 28th cruise on Liberty OTS out of Galveston, nobody ever cancelled a suite, so no suites opened up, but the Junior was just fine (Amazing cabin steward), anyway, used your suggestions in the Casino, went the first night and introduced ourselves to the Casino Manager and host (did not tell them we wanted to be rated, but did tell them we were not big gamblers), they already had a casino credit voucher available for us the first night (Very small from our 2016 cruise action), we continued to go by every night and made sure we said high and had a short conversation with them. Went by the last night and they had another voucher for us. We did not gamble enough for a free cruise but received a small dollar voucher.

Called today and booked a cruise through Casino Royal and it was definitely cheaper than the current discount through the normal avenue or "Next Cruise", I felt like the agent gave us an amazing deal actually, got our suite this time. I had to put the cruise under my wife's name because she lost and won more than I did on this trip, she hit one machine big twice.

Did book a Sky/Star loft suite on Allure in January of 2019 (Next Cruise on-board this cruise) , did not get the 2 bedroom Aqua theater suite because my kids could not make up their minds, so I booked this suite so I could get the Genie and told my kids, this is when I'm going, the ship and dates, if you want to join me great, if you don't we'll pick another cruise that will work, LOL, love my children...

Thanks for all your help with Casino Royal...

Soooo happy to hear that the casino worked out for you.  I have found, over the years, that the most beneficial perk is definitely the casino discount. The certificates are nice but the amounts are incidental to the 42-50% discount that the casino rate offers.  The nice part about the casino rates is that they the same for everyone.  The casino will then add a personal discount on top of the casino rate.  That person discount varies according to your club level and your rating from the last cruise but the basic casino rate is the same for all qualified Club Royale members.

100% right on. I just booked the Allure for next May w/ my wife and 2 young children. The casino rate for the grand suite was only slightly better then the current promotional price but when they added in my personal tier discount the savings were great! My only wish is that one day in the future the program will be more transparent. I wonder if cruise ship casinos are taboo to the different lines and they want to convey that image of a "family vacation" so they don't advertise much or speak much of it for fear of turning off potential customers?

So how does this program work??  We usually take $200 each a day, to lose on slots each day.

It's a function of time and money. You must spend a minimum amount of time in the casino averaged over the length of the cruise (I believe it to average 3 hours per day) and spend something like an average $25/per hand at table games and $3.00 per slot machine pull. I cannot confirm if $200 per day gets you any access to the program. I can tell you that based on what I have read in this forum there are casino members that spend $xxx.00 per day, $xxxx.00 per day and $xxxxx.00 per day. It's all over the map! Good luck.

I think that virtually anyone who puts a dollar into a slot machine with their card inserted will automatically become a Club Royale member these days.  I don't think it takes any special level of play to get into the program anymore.  In the old days you had to qualify at a certain level to become a member but now, anyone who wants to join, can.

The discriminator is what benefits you will be eligible for...and that depends upon your level of play and as  Tony said, the amount of time you spend in the casino.

The bottom line is....it never hurts to ask what benefits you have earned.  I tell everyone who asks...that before you book your next cruise, call Club Royale FIRST to see if there is a chance that you will be eligible for a casino rate or other discount.  Club Royale does a TERRIBLE job of letting people know what benefits they have earned (probably by design) so you have to squeeze them to get information.  I was eligible for a casino rate long before I ever thought to call them and ask them.  There's no telling how many cruises I took where I could have been given a discount that I was not just b/c I never thought to call them and ask.  888 561 2234.

Even if you do not qualify for a casino rate they can tell you what you need to do to get one on future cruises.

How do you become a Casino Royale member and get a card? We spend quite a bit of time....read that as $$$...in the casino. TIA

See the casino host when the casino opens on the first night. Introduce yourself and ask them to rate your play. If it's just slot machines your sea pass card will keep track of your play and qualify you. It's always a good idea to introduce yourself to host though.

I have a Club Royale card from the old program but they don't issue cards anymore. Your Club Royale "account number" is now just your Crown & Anchor number.  ...but as I said above, you will need  to call Club Royale to see if they have you listed as a member - otherwise you simply would not know unless you happen to earn a certificate while on board.
