Rosemary Hall
If the shore excursion you plan to purchase does not include food or beverage at site, can Royal supply "sack" lunch for you? Looking at a 5 hour excursion with children.
SpeedNoodles
No, you typically cannot take food off of the ship into a port. The only exception is something that's prepackaged. I always bring some sort of nutritional bars on the cruise that I can bring into port (Sans bars are my go-to). The ship has its own pastries, up to a point, so security staff aren't likely to be sympathetic. We have purchased packaged cookies, however, which can be a real delicacy in some ports. Our issue is that my one daughter is gluten free and so the ship has really limited options for her.
Ryan79
Bringing ship food ashore and ashore food on the ship is a giant potential bio hazard, unless if factory sealed. Exceptions will not be made to and unpackaged or open packaged food.
